I would like to restrict commenting on articles to only registered users. Is there a way to do this? --Juicestain09 15:25, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
- Yes but it is restricted to only cases of extreme vandalism and spam. Otherwise there is no way to do so.--GodPray 15:28,2/8/2012

- The only way to prevent users from adding comments is to block them from creating pages in general since creating a comment technically equates to creating a new page. Godisme is also correct in saying that we prefer this be reserved for extreme measures. --daNASCAT

- As Danascat said above, it is reserved for extreme cases. Unless your wiki is being hit by anonymous spammers and vandals all the time to the point that it is too much to handle on a local level, it will not be done.--GodPray 19:44,2/9/2012

- Personally, I don't know why Wikia makes a big deal about requiring registration to edit. Maybe if you give us a big list of examples of useless or offensive comments, we can see if you might be justified in limiting comments in some way. - Well I was just looking for a quick solution to a problem that may be not-so-large compared to bigger Wiki's, but if it's this much trouble to have it done than nevermind. I like the community environment provided by article comments, but I guess it can be sacrificed for the sanity of our admins.
