I just started a wiki on Red Dwarf. The name is reddwarf the title is Better Than Life. Well, i just discovered there is a Red Dwarf magazine called Better Than Life. I don't think it is a huge problem, but to avoid confusion, can the sitename be changed? I would like to change it to Tongue Tied.
- The SITENAME is also your Project: namespace, so this would be changed as well. If you just want to change the <title> tag while keeping your original Project: namespace, you can do so at w:c:reddwarf:MediaWiki:Pagetitle, eg: $1 - Tongue Tied. --Splarka (talk) 23:49, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Will do. Thank you very much. I see I forgot to sign last msg! Sorry! Time And Relative Dimension In Space 23:58, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Er, I think you misunderstand. You can't change your Project: namespace or {{SITENAME}} by moving the pages, it has to be done by a dev ^_^. All you can change the <title>. I was just asking which you preferred. --Splarka (talk) 01:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
K. Well then, I think I want to change the whole thing to Tongue Tied. The project name and everything. Thanks and sorry for being an idiot. ;) Time And Relative Dimension In Space 01:45, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- By this request I mean that Better Than Life as a project name be changed to Tongue Tied. The name of the wiki (reddwarf) is perfect and I don't want that changed. Is a project name change feasible at all? Time And Relative Dimension In Space 20:24, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'd like my wiki sitename to be changed to Wikipixel too. Could a staff member do this ? Thanks... Orteil 15:37, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
In some way, Greek Uncyclopedia Anegkyklopedia changed name to Frikipedia, but I don't know how. Smiddle 14:01, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Same question: I'm a little unsure, but it seems like it really can be changed? If that's true, it would be nice to have the Kingdom Hearts wiki sitename changed from "Kingdom Hearts Wiki" to "Kingdom Hearts" if possible. I'll ask our "community" if there's any objections first, but I wanted to make sure it's possible? (I'm lucky the topic was near the top!) Scottch 04:25, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Are you sure? It's normally better to have "wiki" in the title since it makes it easier for people searching for a Kingdom Hearts wiki to find it. Also, if the project was Kingdom Hearts and not Kingdom Hearts Wiki, you couldn't have article titles like Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Angela talk 04:39, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yikes, good point. Never mind then, thanks for the catch! Scottch 04:43, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
