I want to know if fair use or similiar legal things allow to insert a scanned image from a book or magazine, wich visualizes the context of an article? I mean if there exists some sourcebook and I created an article about a specific topic in it, summarizing things, etc. and then there is also a picture to the topic, can I scan it and insert it in a wiki, or is that a copyright violation and therefore not allowed? - Wookieepedia does this, so it's probably okay depending on how you use the images. However, I would suggest that you leave a notice with imformation about the image's source and author / photographer and announce that it's a copyrighted image being fairly used. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 11:53, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
