Note: This topic has been unedited for 521 days. It is considered archived - the discussion is over. Do not add to unless it really needs a response. is now perfect for bigger wikia, but for the smaller ones? They are lost between the inactive wikia.

I've been looking around in different specific wikia, searching and wanting to offer collaboration and help, but there are soo many that don't contain recent changes in the last 30 days, and many of them aren't developed (some even don't have a main page). The first problem is: most of the ones I saw, aren't signed as abandoned or inactive. The second problem is: all, the ones that are signed as abandoned as well, are still categorized and remain in the normal wikias lists (which seem to be the only way to get to small wikias that ARE active). In this way, it is impossible for interested people (admins) to find, between all the wikias, the active ones (and help eachother developing).

Proposal: To make something for both small and active wikias. (for example a list from where the inactive and bigger ones are deleted would be good. An other possibility (I don't know if it's possible) would be to show the status of the wikia already in the categories.

What about an Advertise a small Wikia page? A page where every little wikia has a limited space to use to publicize the own wikia. One should add the date of when he put the advert. Older adverts, and adverts about inactive wikia are archived.

Don't know how to define 'little'. With little pages or little active users? I'd say with little active users.

I like the idea of creating three lists: one with big wikia, another with inactive wikia and another with all the others which have a few active users and need some help. I have also encountered problems trying to find a small one I can easily contribute to. Lcarsdata (Talk) 19:07, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
For anyone interested in wiki on the "more serious side of life" Society Gardens provides a listing which I try and check every once in a while to weed out inactive wiki. There's what seems to me to have been a related discussion at Forum:Discussion on working together, and I still have the feeling that as others have implied we tend to spread ourselves out too thinly. I wonder about, for people interested in wiki on the "more serious side of life" if something like a forum specially for this / Society Gardens, if that's possible (?) would help? But also support any idea which would make finding active wiki easier Philralph 10:42, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I think the solution is in sorted lists. Wikia's statistics page appears to fit the bill.

How would you define active? If a wikia is truly dead, shouldn't it go on the Adoption list or simply be deleted? Brilliand 01:34, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
