Hello, i operate the Puppet Wikia and i need some help with a template. Here it is the template name is Character http://puppet.wikia.com/wiki/Wilberforce it does not display correctly

Looks like something to do with all that t template inside of there. For a simple inputbox I don't think all that stuff is needed. I have a feeling that's an attempt at the ability to hide unused sections, but I've found that a cleaner option to use is to use parserfunctions and have it add a display: none; to the 2 cells when needed (or in the case of cleaner code, I have a hide CSS class which I add to do that). this is fun and interesting i need to know what its {{t|}} as i dont get it that much, why dont use wiki table parameters instead of html parameters it could become clear thought it requires a row for each parameter, but will not be notice on the display, also the last example that you had in your history it had other value keys no performer but i saw it in the code and no builder, no designer but those i did not find it in the code. i will try to wikify it first but im rusted on what td and tr mean lol i think it was row and column respectively, will come back in a while and will inform my results but a test i make most of the fields works wonderfull only some are missing and some does not display correctly --Cizagna ^(Talk) 19:38, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

The t template states that it's used for complex table nesting tricks. <tr></tr> is a table row, equivalent to |-, and <td></td> is a table cell equivalent to using | or || and <th></th> is a table head equivilant to using ! or !|. I don't know who tryed out these table nesting tricks, but using wikitabls, parserfunction, display: none; would work out much better for hiding sections. I think the reason for using html elements was so that they could be put inside of the parserfunctions. But if someone would write out a simple wikitable with all the options you want displayed, and say which options should dissapear, I can set it up to hide optional rows when not used. Ok i have clean up most of it but because of the use of TR and TD there is many redundant information i change the | for {{!}} every T is hiddable if no info is there is no information aside from that they have this fields hideb and hidec that only hides the header my possible guess is that maybe they want to hide the full information related with that header and they mention a hidep but i dont see no place where they use it. I totally remove this part from each row style="spacing-top: 0px; spacing-bottom: 0px;" dont see its use... also i clean as much as i was able moving stuff from the individual rows/cells to the header as there were almost non variating cells i mark you with comment tags what it should hide when is not used and what it needs to be hide when its used if my guess are correct. --Cizagna ^(Talk) 02:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
