Hi, I'm ZimFan. I'm a admin On Zim Wiki. But that's beside the point. On Zim Wiki's chat, three people admitted they were underage. The users were ProjectGir , Mudkippower1 , and NyanGirToastNinjaShadow . Here's the proof.

Hmm

NyanGirToastNinjaShadow admitting.

So..... Yeah. Hi, I'm Zimfan! Talk To me! I Am Normal. 04:03, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

I don't think it's beside the point that you're an admin. As an admin, you can block these users for violating the Wikia TOU. However, they may just be FBI agents government men from the government pretending to be children. -452 04:53, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
O_O. I will, but.... Now i'm kinda freaked. Hi, I'm Zimfan! Talk To me! I Am Normal. 04:54, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
That's quite a problem in most of the Wikia's that users put in a fake age which is more than 13, and they reveal their real ages on chat! It is common. It is better that you block those users.
And by the way, is it allowed to ask ages?

All COPPA issues are to be forwarded to Wikia Staff through Special:Contact and not dealt with locally. Further, screenshots are usually not good evidence, as they are very easy to manipulate. TK-999 (talk) 12:56, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Admins are allowed to enforce COPPA locally too -- RandomTime 13:07, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Weird—I was once told that I should not block COPPA users here on Central but report them instead. TK-999 (talk) 13:09, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Based on my experience since screenshots aren't usually the best evidence of underage users, they may accidentally state their age in their profile tab/masthead. I've seen it happen before. Savannah Star 22:39, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Hi. This is actually a question that seems to generate a lot of confusion. Just to clarify here, it is ok if people under the age of 13 use Wikia; what COPPA (and thus Wikia Terms of Use) does not allow is the creation of an account by anybody under the age of 13.
We ask that admins and others report underage users with accounts through Special:Contact as TK-999 says.
That said, a local block does not "enforce" COPPA; only disabling the account can actually do that, because the problem is having the account at all. If you prefer to ban users that have revealed via chat they are underage on your wiki, that is a decision for you and your community. However, Wikia does not ask admins to police this aspect of our Terms of Use.
I hope this makes things a little clearer for anybody else looking for information on this issue! -- Wendy (talk)@fandom 22:00, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
