There have been a number of posts since the forum started which indicate that there are advanced features available for us to use, but which arent easyily known about. eg setting up forums, editing book sources etc. For example neither of these is clear in the Mediawiki user guide. Can we generate a list of similar features. or can someone point me in the direction of a listing? For example what other special pages are there? What else is under Forum: and Project: headings? Are there other such headings? As aleways. all help warmly appreciated.Lifeartist 15:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea... why not go ahead and start it? You have the first two items to add :) -- sannse (talk) 17:44, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
On Meta: Forum plugin (and some instructions), ISBN links help. Surf around on Meta, you'll never know what you'll find. Although most of the information specific to the MediaWiki software (rather than just Wikimedia servers) is moving to mediawiki.org eventually. (btw, my favorite page on meta: m:Help:Magic_words (note: not all work on Wikia yet)). --Splarka (talk) 03:57, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Personally, I am a big fan of the DynamicPageList extension, which allows you to generate a list of articles depending on what categories they are in. MetaWikipedia:DynamicPageList has more info on it. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 16:26, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Do you think we could use the DynamicPageList extension to achieve the things I had in my wishlist, calling a batch of pages to print and to set them up for slides for lecturing. I was toying with templates for the latter, but there must be a more proffessional way of doing itLifeartist 17:50, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, afraid I'm not sure how to do that. A good one to keep on the wishlist... Mindspillage (spill yours?) 15:01, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I'd love to see us enable RSS feeds within a page. MorePerfect.org enabled that somehow, and this would be really useful for Campaigns. Chadlupkes 03:16, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Personaly, I'd like to be able to set up propper Custom namespaces. I read over it in m:Meta:Help:Custom namespaces but that's all to do with editing the php files that the system uses. If it were possible for us to do that it would be nice to have a guide for. I have a feeling it is because I beleve the wikia's operate individiualy with seperate areas of code. dantman 19:24, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
A tool to manage namespaces has been in development hell (over in Wikimedialand) for a while. Don't anticipate it soon. If the future-namespace is empty then Angela can add one for you, if it is not, the devs have to migrate the files manually. --Splarka (talk) 21:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Ya I saw the page on custom namespaces awhile after I posted. I requested 3 to make organization on my Wikia easier. Item, Character, and Map. Once migration is finished users will be able to search through all the Items we have listed using the namespace. dantman 23:35, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
