While configuring pywikipedia bot, I checked the version number being run for genealogy wikia. It reported back 1.10alpha. Apparently, it does the same here {{CURRENTVERSION}}=1.16.5.

Is this correct? Presumably, I shouldn't freak out about this. Just curious, but are there any known issues with running the latest pywikipedia bot code with this engine? (Yeah, I will return "1.1.0" for Version in my _family.py file).

It's been on 1.10alpha for a quite a while now. I'm not sure what's there to freak out about. Wikipedia itself is right now on 1.11alpha. -PanSola 23:24, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Right. It's amazing the effect your words have had...See? I have already stopped hyperventilating. I recalled commons being at a higher rev, and anticipated incompatibilities with my scripts. It's not exactly 1.10alpha. It started as 1.10alpha but Wikia has made a lot of changes to it over the past few months, and of course applied all the security patches that were released by MediaWiki since 1.10alpha. 1.11 is just about ready, so we will upgrading to that as soon as we have time.
