This articles covers how to report bugs with the Wikia software.
We want your experience of Wikia to be as bug free as possible, and we welcome anyone who spots a bug to report it to us. However, in order to aid us in solving those bugs, we have a few tips about how to report them.
What should a problem report contain?
The more detail you can tell us about what happened, the better.
- Browser - for example Firefox 3.0.3, IE7, etc.
- Operating System (OS) - for example Vista, OS X 10.5, etc.
- Specific details and steps on how to reproduce the bug.
- Try and make it as clear as possible.
Remember, just saying "it doesn't work" is not always that useful :)
Where should it be reported to?
We have a variety of places to report bugs:
- If the matter needs to be dealt with urgently
- For example, unable to access the site, articles missing, important functions (e.g. deletion) non-functioning.
- Help:Wikia IRC channels
- Help:Mailing lists
- Central Forum
- If it is not an urgent matter
- For example, a special page reporting incorrect results, graphical bugs,
- Central Forum
- Help:Wikia Staff talk pages
