Animated Avatars Edit

Is it possible to use a GIF as an avatar have make it animated? (User Page) (talk)

It says on the help page that you can use any GIF as an avatar. You can try; per the help page, I'm pretty sure it'll work.

Uploading Problems Edit

Whenever I upload an avatar, the avatar gets cut off by a white banner on the upper part and the picture's lower part is missing. Master D 17:13, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't work Edit

For some reason, it simply doesn't work. The only place where my avatar changes is on the Preferences page. Everywhere else - my talk page(s), my profile, chats - my previous avatar persists.

The only exception to this is the default avatars. But whenever I upload a new one, it defaults to my old avatar. What gives? Luckmann 20:55, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! That explains why my avatar changed! However, it seems to be a continued problem for others, as well. I know several people that in the past days have tried to change their avatars, only to.. well.. not have them change! But it seems you're already aware of this. You guys probably know this, but the entire text of this file needs to be rewritten in light of the new user mastheads. A user could keep an archive of their former avatars by uploading the images to a site like imageshack and having an archive section on their userpage or as a subpage, if their wiki's policies allow that. ZamorakO o (talk) 04:01, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

I can't upload mine at allEdit

Basically, I have it set to 150x150 pixels, saved as a jpg, and it's 12.3kb. And yet, it doesn't take at all. It just says that the file was not chosen, even though I have clicked it many times as I would normally. Is this a bug? RaeLogan (talk) 03:55, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

Not WorkingEdit

On an IPad Edit

Animated Avatars not working Edit

I tried using GIFs for avatars but they doesn't seem to work. I resized the GIF to the appropriate standards for avatars in the wikia and the GIF normally works. But they don't move when I use them as my avatar.

Is there other requirements to be fulfilled for it to work aside from the standard requirements for avatars? I tried mine and the file size is less than 100kb and the image size is 170x170. But it still doesn't work. :( -- Jopjopjop (talk) 11:03, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

Disappearing Avatar. Edit

For some reason, my avatar disappeared. I did put in a new one, but I don't know why my old one disappeared because I didn't change it. Was it some sort of a glitch?
