Hi, I'm already registered with Wikia but I can't create a new article. I'll put everything in and then when I click Save, it just brings me to a blank "Special Page" called "Create Article". Is there a reason behind this?

Answer

If you are using the new wiki editor, you may not. It may be a glitch. Email wikia and they might be able to sort it out.

Follow up question:

I have been editing wikia since October and have over 4000 edits on several wikias. I am still unable to edit any of these help pages on this wiki, which is incredibly frustrating. Why, and how can I fix this? Anno1404 01:34, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

My user rights are: Autoconfirmed users, Users according to my preferences page, and I still cannot edit here.

Help:User_access_levels#All_users states:

"Anyone can read the wiki as well as create new pages and edit unprotected pages, including users without a user account."

Are all of the article pages on this wiki protected now?

Inter-subpage linking

I'm creating a template/set of templates - We have 3 similar but very separate pages associated with each article. They are:

Main
Main/Subpage1
Main/Subpage2

The template(s) sit at the top of each page and display links to the different pages on the same subject:

Main-to-subpage links are easy
Subpage-to-main links I can do (a link to "../")

Subpage-subpage links... I can't figure that one out. Can you suggest anything?

dropdown box

unable to edit main space pages again

this is really ridiculous, I cannot edit main space pages again. I was supposedly okay-ed a while ago. With a confirmation of my e-mail, the edits I have, and the amount of time I have edited.

Help Index

I think it might be very HELPFUL if the help index is listed in the front help page instead of being listed in tiny letters on the bottom of the help sub-pages. This will insure that new users can quickly find the help they are seeking instead of pressing different buttons hoping to find the right right subject and wasting time. A wikia alerts feed?

I just got a notice pushed to my talk page about about some server maintenance. I dismissed it, and now I want to see it again. Where is it? Is there a Wikia news alert feed somewhere? Userbox Problem!

This is a question for your Wiki's admins, not here. Anyway, I think you want to use the Template:Userbox that's on your wiki. If you don't know how to use templates, then you need to spend time reading some Wiki how-to docs. --GrantB 20:10, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

tiny typo

In the box that is at the bottom of the standard Help page, a caption for a large button reads "Dig deeper in to wiki editing" and "in to" should be "into". Thumlyly 9/28/10

Leave infobox fields blank?

Hi, I'm wondering how to leave a field in an infobox blank. I know everyone just says don't put anything there, but that's not working... for example, on this template: [1], if I didn't want to include a "Faction" field on a certain page but still leave it on the template so other pages could have a Faction field, how would I do that? You do it by placing each field in the infobox within an #if: statement. The #if: statement first verifies whether the field has been passed to the infobox; if so, then the field is displayed, otherwise nothing is shown. Check w:c:pt.onepiece:Predefinição:Personagens for a live example. Note that the #if: uses pipes to separate its elements; the parser will confuse these pipes (which belong to the #if:) with the pipes used to define the table. So, within an #if: statement, to specify a pipe that belongs to the table you must use {{!}} instead. -- 019mgq 13:12, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

Header Problem

Hi, I'm an admin over on the Ōkami Wiki and right now we're having some problems with the header image on the site. The image is located here. It's exactly the same as it has always been but recently it has begun to appear incorrectly on all the pages. Just look here and you will see what I mean. The whole image is there but right at the bottom is what appears to be the top of the image repeated. Any help would be greatly appreciated--Soul reaper 08:34, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Contents Box Where I Don't Want It

Hi there. I'm redesigning the front page of the Alex Rider Fannon Wiki using the Lostpedia front page template, but a content box for article navigation keeps appearing when I publish and I don't want it there. Is there some way to hide or block it from appearing?

Programming various templates and wiki pages

i cannot see the edit box or headline PLEASE HELP. Not even TIMEOIN could fix it, and he's a god!

Hi, im LukaSlayR13, and my problem is that when i go to edit on SkyrimWiki (not that it matters where...) and the white box (like the one these words are in) isnt there, and the header/ headline (like the above) isnt there either. i can usethe code view but due to the lack of code knowledge in my brain i dont use it. Also, on Blogs and Blog posts, i cannot use the "preview" or "publish" buttons, even IF (that is if) the box (usually only the header) appears. I NEED to help my fellow Wikians and i have been de-ranked by 3 positions already due to this problem. Please help my lingering soul....

How about registered users have a new ability: Create Test. So you can create a test about anything related to your wiki topic and have actions such as select and then submit and see how much you've got correct or wrong. Sound interesting?

Search box text

I was wondering how to change the words displayed in the search bar. Rather than have it say "Search this wiki" I want it to say "Search the Net" (related to my wiki). Please help. Teenbat - God of Blood 01:40, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

I’m a little confused, TeenBat. If you change the text in the search box to say “Search the Net” instead of “Search this wiki”, it will not be searching the net; it will only be searching the local wiki. When I want to chat, I get a blank page. I use Google Chrome and it doesn't work on an iPad or Laptop. I tried typing in Special:chat as well as clicking links, but the result was the same. A blank page.
