Confusing Passage[]
I saw one line where it said please don't add links to Amazon, etc., because "we don't want to look like we're trying to sell things." Is that why there are banner ads on every page of every Wiki? Just curious. HaarFager 22:53, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for the message. That text is meant to say to not spam a wiki with lots of links to other websites that users of the wiki may not be interested in. In order to keep providing a free service, Wikia sells advertising space. This supports our staff, servers and much more. As a logged in user, you have the ability to turn most ads off under your preferences. Hope that cleared up the confusion, and thanks for using Wikia.
