Can we edit this number of images to upload?[]

Can we change the number from 10 to more? Thank you. Anno1404 03:25, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

Deleting[]

Is it possible to delete multiple files? If not, it's a suggestion.

Functional Enhancements[]

I was wondering, would it at all be possible to make two changes to this form?

  • Next to each Source Filename's "Browse" button add a Clear button to remove that entry. I have found that once you add a file it is difficult to remove it from one of the 10 slots; trying to get to the local-path form field always pops open the File System's open file dialog box so I cannot clear it out. Actually I find it is easier to reload the page and then try to find the other files that I had just tried to add. The clear button should empty/reset the Source Filename and Destination Filename entries for that specific group.
  • Next to each Source Filename section, or under each one, if that file name has been detected as already existing, display a warning message in that vicinity. The message should probably be displayed immediately under that entry and have it displayed in a prominent type face and style so it stands out. Allow this warning to be displayed on ALL filenames that are in duplication.
    • Currently only the last duplicate file name is displayed as being a duplicate.
    • Currently you have to do significant scrolling down to check to see if a filename has been duplicated, then scroll back up again. This is time consuming and tedious at times.
  • Bonus: To make this form more visually appealing and less prone to error, provide a little more of a separation between the 10 groupings. When many of the file names are very similar, the distinction between the Source Filename and the Destination Filename becomes a little more of a challenge. I think just a little extra space between the 10 groupings would improve the readability greatly.

Thanks!

Multiple uploads is aborting on me![]

For two days in a row whenever I try uploading 20 pictures at once, it suddenly aborts when it gets to 40%!! Please can you correct this error!?!? Ready to rock! (talk) 19:57, April 4, 2019 (UTC)

Uploads suddenly limited[]

I’ve been experiencing this thing where I’m the admin on the Blaze wiki, but every time I upload more than 14 at a time (or more than 10 for already existing photos), I don’t get the confirmation that the upload was successful and instead either of the following, either a “503 backend fetch failed” timeout but the uploads did go through, or a “This Website cannot be reached” problem and the upload was unsuccessful. This has been happening since late March, what is causing this?--Ready to rock! (talk) 20:45, May 2, 2019 (UTC)

Please put multiple uploads on UCP[]

I cannot upload multiple photos at once properly without the Multiple upload extension! Please add it to UCP! --Ready to rock! (talk) 03:01, October 2, 2020 (UTC)

UCP already has an alternative for that which can be found when editing a page. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:46, October 2, 2020 (UTC)
That upload feature does not let you enter a description.--Reubot (talk) 07:16, October 26, 2020 (UTC)
I completely agree with Reubot. It's hard to put categories on all the images through the new UCP multi-upload method, and it's a pain to add the descriptions and category one at a time, which is similar to just uploading images one-by-one. If the old multiple uploads won't be implemented, then it's better to use Special:Upload instead, since we can automatically edit descriptions and categories while uploading using that, although it would be a lot of work since we'll have to do it one-by-one from now on. In my opinion, I think you should reconsider how useful Special:MultipleUpload is. Sijfer (talk) 13:45, January 6, 2021 (UTC)
You can use the MultiUpload script which does let you enter a description!

Actually, you can upload multiple images via Special:Upload now. Simply select multiple files when you're in the image select screen. Didn't know about that, literally just found that out today. Because of course there's no documentation. Also, unlike old MultipleUpload, you can select a license/give a summary for each file individually. --Tupka217 15:51, January 6, 2021 (UTC)

I really wish there's a working multi-upload...It's getting harder and harder uploading things... Sijfer (talk) 08:51, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

It says you can mass replace in UCP but you can't[]

On the page it says: "The file will not be included in the upload until either the name is changed or you check the checkbox indicating that the file should be uploaded anyways." What checkbox? I tried this, and I looked, there is no checkbox! You can't mass replace images in UCP. Unless I didn't look hard enough, this should be removed as it's misleading. ThatGuy30722 (talk) 00:30, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

You need to use the 2010 wikitext editor (labelled 'Source editor' in your preferences). The VisualEditor upload does not support mass replacing images. noreplyz talk 13:19, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

This is similar to the mass replace. I'm uploading files that have the same names but have different file extension (jpg and png). Uploading one-by-one, you can click the "Ignore any warnings" box and proceed, it was also in the old version of multiple upload function. But this new multi-upload just doesn't allow "overwriting" or "uploading files of different extension but have same name". Please help. Thank you. Sijfer (talk) 10:07, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
