Got a question about this topic?
Please consider adding a link to the IRC support channel to the "Don't be scared to ask for help" section. I spotted it on the separate version of "Help:Starting this wiki" that appeared on the Phineas and Ferb Wiki, but it's not in this parent page. The link that was includes was: irc://irc.freenode.net/wikia
Link fix in "More advice" section Edit
When this help page is auto-included in other wikis, one link does not go do its intended destination. For example, on the Phineas and Ferb Wiki, the link for "Main Wikia Help site" actually goes to the base URL for that wiki (http://phineasandferb.wikia.com/) since it does not have a page of that name.
If the link was changed from w:c:help|Main Wikia Help site to w:c:Help:Help:Main Page|Main Wikia Help Site, this would ensure that it actually does reach the correct destination. - RRabbit42 (talk) 19:34, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
- Huh, I can't make it work as an internal or external link. Ah, code is such fun. I'll file a bug on it :) Kirkburn (talk) 11:04, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Not a bug, this is how SharedHelp works. All the links are rendered as if they are here at this wiki (making urls point to http://help.wikia.com), and when they are shown on the remote wiki, a search and replace is done on the rendered HTML for
http://phineasandferb.wikia.com. Thats how links to MediaWiki: and Special: pages "magiclly" point to the pages on phineasandferb.wikia.com and not the ones here on help. So, yes, that means its nearly impossible to put a link to help.wikia.com on a shared help page :) --Uberfuzzy 09:18, February 22, 2010 (UTC)
Logo size... Edit
Is this right "The logo has to be no more than 135 pixels wide and 155 pixels tall"? I thought it was more like 135 pixels tall, and 155 pixels wide (the opposite)? Or is this the standard size for Monobook? I thought Monobook was going to be dropped eventually. --Molokaicreeper 01:29, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh nevermind, it's a typo according to this. I'm just going to go ahead and fix it. --Molokaicreeper 01:41, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
- No, not a typo, a closer examination reveals that the widest it can go is 216 pixels and 155 pixels tall, for Monaco skins so technically yes, the Monobook will still be 135 wide and 155 tall. I don't know if there are still people using it, but now I understand how it works a little better. --Molokaicreeper 01:53, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
