Autonomy over positioning Edit
I am wondering if changes to a wiki's MediaWiki coding can allow an activity page's sections to be placed in a different order. I find that having the community-corner away from initial view (I have to scroll down) detracts users from reading potentially-important messages, instead opting to simply close the notification on sight. I prefered the sitenotice used by monobook because the message would appear at the top of the screen and so would be instantly legible, though I would prefer not to replace the wiki's skin as it would affect the community considerably as they are majoritally-new.-- Forerunner 09:09, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
- No it cant, but the order of these is being looked at. Also, these talk pages are meant to be used for discussing the article text, and how to improve it, not for discussing the features them elves. Please use the forums or contact staff for issues such as these. --Uberfuzzy 02:39, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Custom View Edit
I know certain Special Pages can be displayed differently by passing a parameter in the URL. For example, Special:NewPages displays 50 (I think, anyway, but not on the Help wiki for some reason) new pages by default, but this can be changed by going to Special:NewPages/5, which makes it display 5. Are there any similar options for Special:WikiActivity? Specifically, I want it to display edits done to all of the articles in the namespaces it already displays, but also articles in the Template, Template_talk, File, and File_talk namespaces as well. Displayed namespaces Edit
This help page doesn't list what namespaces are displayed in the Activity list. I know that
MediaWiki activity is hidden, and possibly
Template talk as well. Are there any other default invisible namespaces? Also, is there any way to change which namespaces are hidden, like if I wanted to hide Project namespace activity as well? [I know I can hide additional namespaces with custom CSS rules but that just makes them invisible, not replace them with something else] Lunarity 15:42, August 29, 2012 (UTC)
