You've had more than enough chances here on Community Central - after 11 previous bans, you haven't changed your attitude at all. The moderators have warned you countless times about following our chat guidelines, especially when it comes to your interactions with other users, but again: we've seen no change in how you behave.
Perhaps in the future we can discuss allowing you back into Central Chat if you are able to show that you can follow our guidelines.
I am Spooky Rish, an Amin from the Respawnables Wiki. We have been attacked multiple times by vandals (they were anons) in the last few weeks. The vandals delete all the content on a page and replace it with inappropiate words and information that is incorrect. We have had multiple discussions on how to approach the vandals and our next steps. Seeing that almost everyone who edits there has a registered account, we came to a conclusion that we would lock all the pages down so it can only be edited by registered users. This would make it much easier to identify the vandal and decrease the chances of a future attack.
I would like to request access from you to the 'Site Protect' feature that would make it much easier to lock all the pages down as we have over 450. Doing that manually would be.... very difficult.
Knowing that you were not online for the time of chaos in the CC chat, can I ask you to look at URL's logs for in between 13:20 and 14:20 PTD yesterday? Sorry if I'm being confusing, I hardly even know what I'm saying.
Hello! First and foremost, I would like to say thank your for your code and instructions. Even though I had to download Ubuntu onto one of my computers to get it work, it was made easy by your instructions.
Unfortunately, even thought the bot is now working, I am not really sure about how to execute any of the commands that I can see in the plugin folder. Would you mind proving me with some help if you have some free time? It would be very much appreciated.
# Always include this
require_relative './client'# Include a plugin# plusings/admin.rb# plugins/auto_tube.rb
require_relative './plugins/admin'#You do not need to add the '.rb'
require_relative './plugins/auto_tube'$bot = Chatbot::Client.new# New bot instance# This is where you will register the plugins we included above.# What you need to do then is get the class name from the plugin file# in this case that would be Chatbot::AutoTube and Chatbot::Admin$bot.register_plugins(Chatbot::AutoTube, Chatbot::Admin)$bot.run! # Run the bot!
This is the contents of main.rb, am I right? I'm sorry, I should have qualified my statement. I can get it to run and sit in chat, but, on examining the plugin files, I believe I should be able to do something like !command, and the bot will do something. However, I don't know what commands are available, nor how to run them.
Please post the contents of your main.rb file here, then, so I can ensure you're loading plugins correctly. Also, note that most of the commands defined in admin.rb require moderator privileges (or higher) to use.
Greetings Sactage, I apologize for the language in the chat room. I did not mean to do that. I am not usually like this, and this is my first infraction. Plus, I was asking a question, and I did not know that the question was against the rules in the wiki. Will you unban me from the chat room? I promise to never do that again.
First of all, allow me to apologise for the late reply - I've been a bit busy with schoolwork.
After some consideration, I have decided that I am going to keep your ban as-is. You've been around this wiki for more than a year - your first edit on Community Central was July 2nd, 2013, and even if you didn't immediately start using Special:Chat here, you have had plenty of time to learn our local guidelines on chatting here. I simply cannot believe that you didn't know attempting to bait other users into saying an ethnic slur wouldn't be allowed.
Furthermore, a large component of why I banned you was because you tried to get others to use a slur. While it might not have been aimed at someone in particular, I believe that telling others to join in on racism - directly or indirectly will incorrectly make them assume that our community as a whole supports those ideas. That is not the sort of image we want people to have of Community Central - we welcome everyone here, regardless of who they are, and do not tolerate hate speech of any kind.
Hello Sactage, I would like to translate your blog or parts thereof for the German community. There, most people do not know the VSTF and your blog describes it well. I am not a VSTF and therefore need a "reliable" source. I would appreciate a postive response!
