  • I’ve noticed that the Whiskey Cavalier wiki has had a redesign, which has been harder/more frustrating for me to edit. Is it possible to revert back to the old one?

  • Hello,

I have heard about the search for new Content Volunteers on Wikia / FANDOM, including on English communities. I would hereby like to apply, to help communities achieve success, get more members, help them clear vandalism and spam, et cetera; in short, generally help out with several tasks and projects, plus request for assistance on certain fields.

I'm very good at CSS, modestly skilled at wikitext / HTML and I can do some stuff in JavaScript. In addition, I have experience in using various tools available across FANDOM, editing MediaWiki pages and creating certain templates.

Two things I'm unsure about are; what exactly are the requirements for joining the group? And, seeing as the original description of the group said, "assisting in communities in other languages"; is it possible to apply for more than one language? Since I'd love to help out not only English communities, but also Dutch communities, especially because Dutch support on the network is relatively low.

In short, I'm an avid user of the network, very experienced in several regards, and would love to help out communities in need of assistance (if possible, English and Dutch). Hereby, I would like to volunteer to join the Content Volunteer group.

    Best regards,

I'm good at CSS and Wikitext and wiki editing on FANDOM as you can check my wikis and contributions.

    Thanks :)

    • Hi there Anonminati! Thanks for reaching out.

So, the Community Development Team is putting together a team of official Content Volunteers to help with important projects working alongside staff and other volunteers. We’ll strategically pick projects in various communities based on data, competitive analysis and google trends, and pair volunteers based on their passions, interests and skills. We want volunteers to keep doing what they were doing, but help out providing tools and strategy, maximizing your impact.

Some of these projects might include, helping a new popular gaming or tv wiki get off the ground, designing a new skin and wordmark, adding details to tv episode summaries, adding info to weapons pages on a popular gaming wiki or fleshing out side quests. These sorts of carefully chosen projects will be very important to the success of FANDOM.

We’re just getting this program started so we would be learning as we go and we’re open to hearing your ideas. We'd want to assign at least one project a month. Let me know if you’re interested in giving it a go!

    • Of course I'm interested in this program.
So, where I should get started?

  • Hi I help wikis all over wikia and help users. Is there any opportunities you could tell me to be more involved with wikia. Perhaps Helper of wikia.

    • If you are interested in working on the XFactor Wiki, there seem to be a number of red links on article pages of previous seasons like this one that could be created and built out.

  • Greetings,

My username is Golfpecks256! I have heard about your latest development of the content volunteer group for English communities! While I do not have a global right or have experienced having one, I'd like to apply for this as a new opportunity to help FANDOM communities develop and achieve success as I am an avid FANDOM user myself.

I am very good at using wikitext. Of course I am not THE BEST at it but I have designed some basic templates and components for wikis. You can have a look at my contributions at the Curious George Wiki (curiousgeorge.wikia.com - still in development - also adopted my me) and Pocoyo Wiki (pocoyoworld.wikia.com) as well as Octonauts Wiki (Octonauts.wikia.com) I can't possibly list them all as I've really put a lot of effort into helping communities grow and helping abandoned ones as well (even if I'm the only one editing!) I believe I can certainly take pride in helping in content tasks/projects on any wiki that needs some assistance. I heard the group is quite small at the moment so I'd be happy to volunteer. Let me know if you had any questions, concerns or anything! Thanks,

    • Hey,

Actually after some rethinking, I am going to leave the English group.

I think firstly, I expressed interest at the wrong time. Simply school and such limits my time on here and I already work on a lot of wikis. I don't want to make you guys wait or anything. And I feel there is probably better out there who might have interest in joining and possibly help that wiki. I do not know much in that show, I just wanted to try it out but with the time constraint and busy schedule, I want to leave the group. I may or may not rejoin at a later date when I have a lot of extra time to work on FANDOM (probably in or after the New Years) but for now, thank you for helping me understand what this role was about.

    • Yes! I'm so sorry, I had some personal stuff come up and needed to leave town but... I am back and, once I've "refreshed" myself with my wikis, I will look at these other ones.

    • Also, I wanted to let you know that I did find out some info for Horizon Zero Dawn if you wanted to take a look. Let me know what you think:

Check out the short pages and try to expand some of the articles that have only one sentence intros, there are plenty of traps, items, and animal parts that could be expanded on further.

https://horizonzerodawn.wikia.com/wiki/Special:AncientPages (oldest pages since an edit) https://horizonzerodawn.wikia.com/wiki/Special:ShortPages (smallest pages) https://horizonzerodawn.wikia.com/wiki/Special:FewestRevisions (pages with fewest revisions)

    • Hey there GuillermoIE, just checking in on you! Looking for new projects? You're doing a great job and we definitely want to consider moving you to official Content Volunteer status if you're interested. That means getting set up on some of the tools staff use to communicate and manage projects.

  • Even though this thing I'm about to tell you was a long time ago (things in the past are usually not worried, but for me no), I would like to tell you something I've never spoken of.

Back at TMNTPedia, I once did added a theory on the trivia section of Cockroach Terminator's page. When that happened, one admin, Trigger009, said I shouldn't do it. Although I really did thought it was allowed, the other admin, The S, clearly denied me of that such as saying, "What makes you think (something)". I don't know what he said exactly since going back to see what he said exactly will bother me some more. Here's a link if you need to see it. [1]

I'm not asking you to help me (I'm aware that FANDOM can't help), I just want you to understand.

    • Hello! I would not worry about it, it was a long time ago, as you said. Different communities have different rules about where you should put theories and speculative talk. I see you also did some in the Forum on TMNTPedia and it was fine there. :) Speculation is usually best for Forums and Discussions areas, not article pages. Thanks for checking in, it's clear you want to be a good community member.

    • Thank you for your support. Even though things in the past are usually less worried, sometimes better late than never might be good. And if I least said all of this sooner years ago, I may not have to worry less on letting something go (after all, the sooner the better).

P.S. I realized when someone says "What makes you think (something)", that person may not believe in what I said, even though the answer is already there.
