Gaiapedia Edit

Hello, I left a comment on your page in Gaiapedia, about trying to get some Rights to it and Adopt it, so I can clean things up. When I made my request I was told by Catherine, to speak to you and create a forum topic to see who should get Admin rights. The original Admin (Alyssachanpc) is clearly gone, I Googled her Username to find how active she has been, and a lot of her activity slows down and stops around 2007, but she was gone from Gaiapedia a year before that. Though she did sign into Gaia around 2008.

The other Admin Q Cumba FX aka Wrecks, is no longer associating with Gaia Online, he is on Solia Online and even founded the Wikia for it. And clearly states that on his Userpage. His activity for Gaiapedia stops at 2008.

When it comes to yourself, I noticed that you have a lot of other wikis under your belt, so your updating to Gaiapedia has been very spaced, and Gaia makes updates quite a lot.

I am personally backtracking on all the Sponsorships that have been on Gaia, and creating pages for them. Skittles and MTV being the major ones. I am also working on Character profiles; the character pages are very different, and I am trying to make them appear alike, so they have consistency.

I do admit that I need to work on my past tenses and know that some of the banner ads shift the content of the pages, and I need to learn the rest of the pages on the Pedia, but overall I would love to have access to it fully so I can bring it up to date. We also need more people. There are around 5 doing various things, with some unregistered making edits. But there has also been vandalism, and I would like to lock some pages to stop such things. I would like to see this in check before I start promoting Gaiapedia around Gaia; opening this pedia with no stability, wouldn't be a good idea.

For the character profiles, I have linked to Fanthreads; I saw your post about not wanting these, but I feel that linking these threads are not harmful. The information on the Character pages are facts, so it is only the Trivia sections that hold minor theories, and these theories are backed up by linking to threads on Gaia. I do avoid POV, and include view points based on the reactions of Gaians. I would like Gaiapedia to be more than just a cold place of facts.

Archive Tool Edit

Hey Dantman, it's me, Kagimizu. You see, I've tried installing the Archive Tool on the Sonic News Network, but it doesn't seem to have worked. Hey Dantman, I have a problem. You see, the Archive tab is showing up properly, but the tool ain't working. It gets to a point where it shows all of the lines I want to archive.... and then what? That gnarly .closest(expr) problem Edit

At User:Najevi/sandbox3 you can see my documentation of the .closest(expr) problem and the workaround I ended up using.

There are some unanswered questions about the correct use of .closest and also .parents when the target element is a DL element so if you are able to shed any light that would be great. Is it possible that a pair DL tags does not constitute an "element" ?

I am currently building a wiki for an online game, and would like some help.

I've been confused with this whole "Mediawiki" language and whether I need to download PHP and agh, suddenly loads of stuff that puts me out of my depth when I was just settling in. I was only trying to find out how to make an image change when I hover over and for more information on image mapping!

Is there a tutorial on Linktabing Edit

_{copy/paste from form} . Hello, I am not sure what it is called. Since you are the original Admin who created this template - Linktabs. That apparently works by linking one Event page to another Event page. It hasn't been updated since 2006 (thus outdated) though I did attempt to try something I basically failed. I want to try and update this to include Protect locks, as well as create more tabs to link to current events. • Well, there are many different user groups here, only staff,helpers,VSTF, and wikifactory are administrators of community central, the only user group for regular users is VSTF, for the users who always help reverting spam.

Help with a Template / Mediawiki you created Edit

Could you please tell me how this Plotwiki template works, I either want to do away with it, reformat it completely or link it back to the original plot wiki website, because gaiacast is obsolete, it is not longer a website. When you click any of the plotwiki link it ends up on a dead website that says gaia cheat.

MediaWiki CSS Edit

Another question on your coding for Gaiapedia.

I am working to create info boxes that have a border and horizontal line, however, when I test out other wiki templates on Gaiapedia the infobox renders with no boarder and no horizontal line (basically invisible). In order for the lines to appear I have to set border to "=1". I prefer not to have the boxes look like that as they lines come out too thick. Please revert a wrongful deletion... Edit

Another user has deleted one of my recipes on healthyrecipes.wikia.com and even after several request on her talk page for her to revert it she only deletes the requests too.

This particular recipe was a perfectly balanced meal that precisely matched expended calories derived for a measured BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and TEE (Total Energy Expenditure). The background for this and all of my recipes is that I was fascinated with the question of whether a computer could formulate a perfectly balanced diet plan to match expended calories from user measurements. Consequently I set to work writing one and eventually succeeded.

Healthyrecipes.wikia.com seemed like the perfect place to present them. Because Union prisoners had all but starved to death at Andersonville Civil War Prison where our class stopped to visit I was inspired to submit only the ingredients to the computer likely available at the time for meals to see what the computer would come up with.

I posted the recipe as The Prison Diet Plan Gruel recipe to show my students how little amount and variety of ingredients were necessary to meet minimum calories and balanced macronutrient requirements to prevent hunger, starvation or overweight stemming from confinement (prison or being stranded on an island) or ignorance (eating only protein and no fats or carbohydrates).

Then user:The13thbaktun deleted it without first checking with me and asking what the recipe was about. She refuses to revert it after several requests on her talk page and has even deleted the requests.

It is a lot of work doing a new recipe from scratch. I am happy to include a more complete description for those who have no sympathy for prisoners of war but I need the recipe reverted so I do not have to start from scratch. --imho 01:40, November 4, 2011 (UTC)
