  • Heyhey. Shouldn't this be on Ransom's wall or blog? Looks pretty off-topic to me

    • Thanks. Off-topic replies tick me off for some reason

    • Well, only because you slightly missed the point. In a proper forum, that thread would either 1) be deleted, 2) be merged with the duplicates, 3) be locked, and linked to its duplicates.

      That's what my post was emphasizing, although it is clear that CC doesn't particularly care about hundreds of duplicates. Anyway, thanks for helping me "fix" my post, as it certainly might have been confusing to future readers...

  • Hey. This suggestion seems like it could be implemented with the Wikia API. However, the lack of any documentation for it means I'm not confident in trying to find anything, though I am aware that you were able to make something else. Could you maybe look into this, as it would be quite useful for wiki's imo.

  • This is regards to wikistyle infoboxes since PI does not yet have this feature. here is the template that i'm testing on. I managed to use the following to insert a dropdown menu to act as an infobox row value using the following:
     <div id="my-dropdown"></div>

    I added following after the above div tags to act as a hidden variable to store the selection choice:
     <div id="my-dropdown-variable", style="display:none" class="hidden"> {{{value}}} </div>

    The javascript that i have managed so far creates a dropdown and a save button:
    $("#my-dropdown").html("<select> <option>pie</option> <option>cookie</option> <option>cake</option> </select><button class='save-button dropdown-save-button'>Save</button>");

    This is the part that i need API help with as I'm unsure how to figure out how to get the selection then save it into my variable "value"

    $('.dropdown-save-button').click(function() {
    });

    Sorry for the long post, hopefully this is well explained if not feel free to ask for clarification. I can grant you sysop on my test wiki.

      oh forgot to ask, is there a way to expand to allow as many different dropdowns linked to different div tags without a separate set up?

      Sorry for not asking earlier...

      Just give them different ids, and it should work. I think...
