so um i noticed that i have been spending all my time on python recently so today i decided to embark on html so i was writing some code that makes the word brown the color brown and changes its font size to 100 pixels, this is what i wrote:
but instead it returns simply the word brown
Hi Fngplg, it's me again :P, I thought I would message you here rather than on the LinkPreview talk page. Just to let you know, link previews do not appear when hovering over a link in the tabview body. They do appear when hovering over the tabview title though. I've provided an example here.
After doing a lot of testing of old revisions, I've concluded that revision 72298 was the last time link previews would show in the tabview body. Revision 72299 onwards do not show link previews through tabview properly.
Just out of interest, is it possible to set an option where the Link previews dont appear when hovering over the tabview title, but will appear when hovering over a link in the tabview body?
I hope you get a chance to read this at some point. Have a nice day :)
Using the code above, the link preview shows up when hovering over the tab header, but not on any links in the tab body. I was hoping to achieve the opposite. Have link previews show up on the tab body, just not the tab header.
Hey Fngplg, thanks for the latest update you did to LinkPreview, previews now show properly in the tabview body :). As for the tabview headers, previews don't show up when using Google Chrome (works good), but I think Firefox may have issues still as link previews often show on tabview titles.
I'm not saying it's a problem with the script, as I know you've fixed the issue, I think it's a problem on Firefox's end. Just thought I would let you know :)
It's me, who was seeking help on building the tooltip.css, in case you don't browse the board these days, I left this message to infom you that I post a reply on the original thread, please take a look at it if you have time, thank you!
Hi, it's me again :P, hope I'm not bothering you, but I was wondering if you could help me with 2 things to do with LinkPreview - the max text length and disable hover previews on Tab view.
I may have found the issue, on my own wiki I've been importing LinkPreviews through MediaWiki:ImportJS
I tested importing the script on my personal js on another wiki through
Update 2: Importing through PersonalJs doesn't really work on my own wiki for some reason, but it works fine on [[w:c:candycrush]]
Update 2: importing article through personal js and adding the settings doesn't really work on my own wiki for some reason, but it works fine on Candy Crush. Very strange
I went back to importing it through ImportJS instead, I think the settings may finally be working now! I'll test it for a bit to see if it's working well, hopefully no more problems (although I think my own wiki may have problems as quite often pages don't load properly first time and can require several refreshes before displaying properly). Thank you!
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but you've helped me out a couple of times recently with some questions I've had. Several weeks ago I asked if it was possible to do this on wikia. You provided an example of it being possible with the Triggerimage template on ru borderlands wikia.
With your permission, would I be allowed to use that template and code on my wikia? I have been messing around with it and while I haven't got it working exactly like how I wanted it, I think it is what I need. If I am allowed to use it, could you provide details on if it's possible to change the positioning of the hover image? Currently the hover image appears beneath the first image, but I need to be able to freely change position.
u may use the template as u want. positions on images has some limitations due of nature of css: images always follows their triggers (trigger1 - image1, trigger2 - image2...), so u can't just move it where u want. u still can use float:right on triggers (.trigger-image-trigger) to get this or clear:both to get this.
there are some more options in css u can use to set positions. i'd suggest to read css guides.
Hey, thanks for letting me use it! It's a shame that limitations prevent the hover image from being freely moved around, but that's a good idea, to have a look at some CSS guides. I'll try and work with what I have :)
