Really wonderful designEdit

I love what you did. If I could ask for a couple of changes (as I am design challenged myself).

• We need the navigation to be more prominent - ideally the 7 continents and as many as 50 cities in a horizontal box BELOW welcome and ABOVE news and browse
• newbies will click on the pictures in the welcome box - we could really use a hyperlink below each picture describing what city it is, and pointing to that city page
• The browse section is pretty choppy for readers. Is there a better way to organize it?

I was just following your instructions on my talk page for how I should move the page you designed to the home page. Would it be better if you paste it in, or do we need to revert all the changes via the database, to insure there are no copies with my name on it? - sorry again Gil

Towns, Villages and CitiesEdit

Hi! Your cities: user page still says "[Template fetch failed for http://www.wikicities.com/wiki/Template%3AUser%3ALcarsdata?action=render; sorry]"; but I guess you want to redirect it so I'll leave it alone. However, other less wikisavvy readers (eg me) will be a bit puzzled at reaching Wikia Central when they were trying to reply to a comment on a separate Wikia (as, for example, I was a few minutes ago, not really seeing much difference between "adding" a page and "creating" it, if it already "exists" just waiting to be edited). I recommend you have an ordinary talk page there but have a prominent notice at the top inviting people to talk to you here. Robin Patterson 06:14, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

You do indeed appear to have fixed it up now! No apparent duplications I have noticed, and clear indication that you want people to talk to you here rather than on cities:. Your User page still had that non-functional "Template:User:..." thing near the top yesterday, I think, but I see no actual problem with it. Actually, different engines just render things differently, just because a browser passes the test doesn't mean that everything that looks bad has bad CSS. I know that the bar drops down in Opera. But When I implement a fix for that, Safari's bar breaks in the way it does in Opera without the fix. And both Safari and Opera pass the Acid2 test, so it's not bad CSS, it's just a difference in how the two engines render. I requested some html to be added to the site that will implement that fix in opera only, but it hasn't been added. And since Safari is the primary mac browser, and it's engine is used in multiple browsers over multiple OS's and Opera's is only used in Opera, we cannot support a fix for Opera in the good nature of making the site accessible to all Computers until we move and I gain access to source code, or the Wikia admins add the fix we need.
