    • Hi AnimePerson1,

The folks over at the technical support board may be able to help you out with that.

    • Hi MarkvA I been over there... did ask but got getting anyway and feel like giving up on it as it just not going as it should be... sigh...

I'm stuck on DPL Offer which has more info than DPL Shop or Reward which work fine... just DPL Offer seem to be an issue at moment.

    • I'm afraid I'm not particularly familiar with DPL, so I can't really help you out with this issue. I suggest giving your thread on the forums a bit more time to see if anyone else may reply; looks like it's only been a day or so since the last reply.

  • Hey there,

    What is it?

    • The Utilities group is a special user group for staff members with a number of additional permissions that not every staff member needs. These permissions are usually somewhat high risk, which is why they're part of a separate group.

  • But one of my friends has been having trouble posting comments and posting on message walls. He couldn't post this on his own, due to the problem. I've attached an image of the problem that he sent me to this post.

    • Hi there Fredbear,

I'm sorry to hear your friend is having issues with posting messages. Could you ask your friend to report this issue to my colleagues through Special:Contact? They'll hopefully be able to help resolve the issue.

    Alvast bedankt

    Timothy

  • Hi, I'm over on the Witcher wiki trying to make use of a mouse over ability and in edit mode it showed the line breaks just fine in the tooltip, but when I finally published it, it's like they're not there, making one giant wall of text. I think there needs to be something about whitespace pre-line in the CSS page. Could you help me with this?

    Thanks,

    Mechemik

    • Could you provide me with a link to an example page where you've set up the tooltip system?

        Loading editor
    • Sure, I set it up for the images on this page.

        Loading editor
    • Unfortunately enough the HTML "title" attribute does not properly support line breaks. There's a solution for some browsers, but unfortunately enough this doesn't work consistently across all browsers. I'd recommend using a different (perhaps JavaScript-based) solution for these tooltips.

I'd recommend asking for other solutions on our Getting Technical forum board. They may be able to help you find an acceptable alternative.

    • Ok thanks, I'll check there then.

  • Hi,

I want to become an admin for the Tenacious D Wiki page. (tenaciousd.wikia.com)

The page is currently in-active, therefore I've got no-one to talk to. I have a LOT of knowledge on Tenacious D.

How do we proceed forward with this?

    Thanks,

    Michael.

  • Hello,

I'm a member of the French wikia Picsou Wiki. I discovered on the german Moviepedia Wiki, the rating system that you create few years ago to give a mark to a film : http://de.moviepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Vorlage:Film. On Picsou Wiki, we were seeking of that kind of system to mark stories. I tried to copy the code on my wiki, but it does not work. My model is here : http://fr.picsou.wikia.com/wiki/Mod%C3%A8le:NotationTest (for the moment it is not used in an infobox, but this will come :)). I make tests here : http://fr.picsou.wikia.com/wiki/Utilisateur:Potomac/Bac_%C3%A0_sable. It does not record the marks, and it is surely linked with the "Wertung" (it's like a special feature on the German wiki that we don't have on Picsou Wiki and I don't understand what it is). Can you help me?

    Cordially,

    Potomac.

    • Hi Potomac,

I've made a change to the JavaScript code on your community that should fix the issue. Hope this helps!

      Happy holidays to you!

        Loading editor
    • Thank you for your change that fix a problem, but not all :D

Now, it's record the mark in an article, but it doesn't show the average below "Note moyenne :" with the claps and doesn't show the number of voters in the field "Suffrages exprimés :"  (like in the infobox here http://de.moviepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Blade_Runner). I don't know if I am clear.

Thanks ! (And happy holidays too)

        Loading editor
    • In order for the averaging to work, the page needs to be in the "Film" category. This can be adjusted in the code by modifying this line:

      if ($.inArray("Film", wgCategories) > -1) {

      Hope this helps.

  • Hello,
I wanted to ask, since you were the one to add Category:Curated Main Page to Help categories, what is it used for?
Apparently, Bert and Mira don't know what is it used for (I asked Bert in context of renaming it to Mobile Main Page and he had no idea why it existed in the first place, and I asked Mira during Staff Office Hours if any of it's subcategories were used on Special:CuratedContent and she said they weren't)
Is the "curated main page" that category is about some kind of an extension aside from Special:CuratedContent, or those subcategories were located in Special:CuratedContent before somebody removed them, rendering the category useless?
I started recategorizing those subcategories and after a few realized that it might be a better idea to ask you instead of mass-editing them, especially if I'm doing it wrong.

    Kind regards

      Loading editor
    • The categories inside of Category:Curated Main Page are still in use on the Mobile Main Page (which is shown on mobile devices).

The reason these help pages are in this unique category is so only a select number of help pages are actually shown in the MMP to prevent clutter; if we were to use a general category like Category:Administration help too many pages would be displayed. The subcategories and its main category Curated Main Page should not be recategorized as that'll break the mobile main page as is.

At some point we should probably update the category name - but that'd have to be accompanied with a mobile main page update.
