Admin Questions Edit

Thanks for leaving a message on my home page about Ms Munroe no longer being with Wiki. Before she left, she gave me Admin privlages on the Wikia X-Men page. (http://x-men.wikia.com/wiki/X-Men_Wiki). She left without leaving me any real info or answers. I'm looking for the following:

1. Whom do I answer to? Is there a chain of command? If so, where is it posted? Who can promote me or demote me in this organization? Where can I contact/talk to them?

2. Where do I find Wikia posting policies? I have an issue with a contributor posting articles on imaginary X-Men characters. I need to know if Wikia policies cover this or do I make up my own rules and take my own actions?

3. My wikia says there is about 443 articles posted in that Wikia, but I see no place/no link where I can pull up a list of all 400+ articles. How do I do this?

Templates from Templates Wiki & CSS Edit

Hi Ose I added the Ambox template to the RFM wiki for User:AJona1992 Which needed the CSS adding to sites mediawiki.Common.css which he has done but it is still not adding the Borders to the boxes. Is there something I've missed ?. It was one in the Forum:Adding templates discussion yesterday. It was to actually add/create the Cleanup template, as he wanted one similar to the wikipedia one. Be greatfull if you could have a look / advise, as the contents there , just no coloured box appearing at all, so i assume its the CSS bit. Your code should look like:

A couple things to note:

1. You don't need to define the entire HTML structure in your selector unless there are multiple levels of links inside your table.
2. jQuery runs by default when the DOM is ready, so you don't have to add the extra "shortcut".
3. Most browsers now have pop-up blockers which block window.open that doesn't happen on click so while this would do what you want, you have to disable your pop-up blocker.
4. I suppose if the click emulation was the only reason you added the target to the links you could delete that line.
5. jQuery does not emulate clicks (the click function only triggers click events - which is a shortcut for the onClick attribute in HTML/normal JavaScript), nor can you emulate clicks on links in JavaScript in general.
6. If this snippet were entirely jQuery-based you wouldn't need the each. jQuery applies the functions to all results of your selector by default (you can specify which exact one you want to perform manipulation on through more narrow selectors or use of the eq function)

Hi, I'm trying to make a new wikia on a anime I've watched, but when I looked at some of the other anime wikias, they have their own types of Template Info Box things, I want to make my own too, but I don't know how. Also, I wanted to know how to copy templates from other wikias, as I've read that's how you make your own - "just copy and paste it in your own wikia, then it'll become your own template" thats what they say, but I don't know how too. Your picture didn't really show what your precise problem was, and it wasn't something I could replicate. Nevertheless, I implemented your suggestion, thinking it might improve something that might have been an issue for some browsers but not mine. Instead, your proposal it seems to have caused other users immediate distress.
