  • Hi again, Pecoes!

    In light of the stunning work you did with the map lightbox, I was wondering if I could ask another favor of you?  I've seen plenty of WoW-related sites with "blue trackers" embedded on them, but haven't figured out how to do it for our site yet. An example can be found here, which pulls the information from here, I believe.

    It would be nice to have the threads sortable as they do (ie Service Status, Dungeons and Raids, etc.). So ours might look something like:

    Subject-->Forum-->Name of blue poster-->Blue post (in blue)

    We wouldn't need Activity or number of posts, and of course the content would link out to the actual post on the official site for more info.

    I know wowhead has an rss feed for their blue tracker, and we can use that as a last resort, but hopefully something like the above could be done instead.

    Let me know if it's possible! And thanks in advance for any attention you give this :)

    Best regards,

    Raylan

  • Hey, Pecoes. I was wondering if you could help me out with something. I need a way to categorize users who have gone inactive for over 6 months. Is that possible to do with JS?

  • I tried {{MLink|Underbelly|text=Map|usemap=1}} and it (w:c:wow:Template:MLink) would show "File:WorldMap-Dalaran1.jpg" instead of "Map".

    • I only added that usemap parameter to the template to make the master list a little less resource hungry. It's not meant to be used on any other page. Without that parameter you'd have to write:

      {{MLink|Underbelly|text=File:{{Map File|Underbelly}}}}

      which means the name would be resolved twice since Template:MLink uses Template:Map_File as well. That's a bit wasteful. So this parameter instructs MLink to use the file name instead of the zone name. And I left that parameter out of the documentation because this particular feature is not really useful in any other context.

      Sorry if that caused confusion!

      I can remove the parameter, if you like. Or document it. I'd rather remove it though.

    • You can remove it, but please give an example like the one above. I think I used usemap= because it was used with MLink in the Master List table of w:c:wow:Template:Map_File/doc like {{MLink|Underbelly|usemap=1}}.

    • Well, this is what you should have written:

      {{MLink|Underbelly|text=Map}}

      And that's exactly what the documentation I wrote suggests, or isn't it?

    • Yeah, I figured that out eventually.

  • All I have to say is "WOW" - that's exactly what we're looking for, and it looks terrific!

    • That makes sense to me :) Users can then know clicking on either will open the lightbox.

    • You were right. Having the links in the same base color as the maps really makes sense. It's quite intuitive. Looks nice too :)

  • Hi, Pecoes. I wonder if you could help me with something? I also poked Lunarity, but I don't know which one of you is more active.

    I'm using the Reference Tooltips script, but it is custom made for Wikipedia, or at least its layout, and it doesn't work properly on wikia. The "Disable Reference Tooltip" is messed up, for example, and the "Enable Reference Tooltip" link that is supposed to appear on the footer, doesn't. Could you please help?

  • It is my understanding that you were the one behind The Data Core's colour changer. Would you be able to help me out with something similar?

  • There is a "MediaWiki" or something that I can use to move all files from one wiki to another?

    If not, could you create?
