Sannse, if you have the time, could you possibly give me a verdict on this question? I figured someone on Wikia staff would be best able to answer, and my reply goes into further detail as to the reasoning behind my question.
I apologize if there's someone else I can ask for this, or if there's some FAQ somewhere I didn't see that addresses this. So, my wiki (Pikmin Wiki) is undergoing some large rennovations for the upcoming Pikmin 3. One problem I've found is that the Ad that shows up on the front page is feels like it is practically smack-dab in the middle. Its quite large, and I was wondering if there was some way to move it to a different spot on the front page? Thanks in advance.
I'm afraid that's something you will have to work around. The ads are an important part of how Wikia works (and why we can give wikis free hosting) and that one is a standard setting that we need
But if you need any help in designing your layout to go around the ad, please let us know and we'll try and help
You even didn't read them, right? (like: "oh, this guy again, not reading this... *whistles*) Are you starting to ignore me? -wikimanmeet.talk. 01:16, June 15, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not ignoring you, but neither of your last two messages really seemed to need a reply. The second did worry me somewhat, because it seemed to indicate that you might not have moved on from the Ideas Wiki, but I hoped you meant the other wiki you have started editing.
Although, I have to say, I'm a bit concerned about how you will edit there. You already seem to be getting impatient with the founder for not adding your rules. But as he has the ability to block you if needed, I hope that he will be able to keep the wiki heading in the direction he wants it to.
You know, the best thing would be for your to create your own wiki from scratch. That way, you would be able to decide its direction, and totally focus on building it the way you feel best. I strongly urge you to consider this.
"I strongly urge you to consider this." - I already did.
I was planning on making MindLight (what Idea Wiki would sadly never be) once I "left" the IW.
MindLight is the place for actually usable ideas (for example, a custom guitar, lightbulbs, ideas for software, etc.), with an actual quality control and simple rules (that the Idea Wiki lacks).
I'm thinking about branching MindLight into a franchise of wikis, such as MindLight.Music, Mindlight.Sports, etc.
However, it lacks proper development, but that can be solved.
MindLight sounds like a good idea. I hope you will work on that
Yes, I was away from here for the weekend. I work Monday to Friday most of the time - although I will sometimes look in on the weekend and on evenings if necessary.
Hi, there weren't really founders when this wiki was started, one of the technical staff had to make the wiki.
Staff are people who work for Wikia as their real job. It's not a volunteer position. Admins are chosen from people who have been active on this wiki for a long time, and who take part in discussions on the wiki in and helpful and well thought out way.
I don't want to be discouraging, and you are welcome to get more involved, but new admins are a pretty rare thing
But don't let that stop you commenting on blogs and forums, and helping others here!
The Idea Wiki. Not that Idea Wiki, but a different one.
It's made by UltimateSpiderman as a response to my failed crusade for what would never meant to happen.
I decided not to do the same mistakes there. Just simple contributions. Plus, I'm going to Swerty's IW just to retrieve my ideas and back them up in Spidey's IW (Spidey stands for UltimateSpiderman btw.) and MindLight.
A situation which leads to the following:
The "New Idea Wiki" will become a sandbox-like wiki, while MindLight will become a "ideas for the world" type of wiki.

Now you can be in peace. -wikimanmeet.talk. 20:14, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
Personally, I'm thinking more of NeverEnding Story
This is another attempt to "fix" the Ideas Wiki, which I've repeatedly asked you to move on from. It seems I'm going to have to block you from there permanently to make my point.
Checking the page User:Regular_nerd77 it does appear to be available. Please send your request in to Special:Contact, which has a link for name changes.
I'd also suggest you think very carefully about this. You can only change your name once, and if you feel RegularNerd77 is "long and boring", are you sure you want something so similar? :)
When you have decided, the links Thisismyrofl gave you are the place to go
