Hello Ms. Manley. I am an admin at the [survivor-org.wikia.com Survivor ORG Wiki], and we currently are marred with several sockpuppets (two have been found, but I'm pretty sure there's a lot of them out there). These sockpuppets pose as two different players (one person but with two accounts, guising as someone else). For the interests of fairness, I would like to be given usercheck rights there so that we can avoid sockpuppets and not keep bugging you guys just to check their IP addresses. I know granting non-staffers is a rarity, but I hope you see this as a special situation. I hope for your reply soon, Ma'am. Good day and thank you, Ms. Sarah.
Yes, this situation is rather rare, and normally, check user rights are given to users who have more experience than the general public at Wikia, and not to be blunt, but I'd like to see you link "[survivor-org.wikia.com Survivor ORG Wiki]" correctly before you are potentially given the rights. ;)
My apoglogies, IamNothing712, I was just trying to put out a pointer; I didn't mean to interfere with your request, but I believe you simply don't ask for check user rights via message wall and get accepted. Perhaps, Special:Contact/general; also, I do also think you need more hard evidence of sockpuppeting with specific examples, rather than stating you only found 2 sockpuppets, which is hardly enough for be granting check user rights.
The ORG Wiki is a sister site to the Survivor Wiki (and to prove my point that I can really type in a hyperlink correctly and you pointing it out was a slap to my face). We are having an influx of new players, and we have caught a handful of players who tried to break in using two different accounts. That is why I am asking for check user rights so we don't need to ask a staffer every now and then to check IP addresses of usernames.
Alright, here are the few things that are really necessary, but not exactly required for having a successful check user request, non of which seem to fit your situation. These are all from observation from other wikis that have current check users. You usually need a community consensus of some written form, /many/ sock puppets, and a Special:Contact/general request. You can't just ask for check user rights on a staffer's message wall and expect to get the rights.. alright I think I've wrote enough to make some sort of point, as I don't want to spam up Sarah's message wall. :P Again, I apologize for intervening with this thread. =)
I just noticed that there is such a thing, I really want to help. I'm a Hebrew native speaker, as I seen there were also Russians(I also speak Russian), I thought why not Hebrew. You may ask why I don't have a wiki, well the answer is I some how resided on the Avatar wiki and didn't bother to create my own wiki. I know you put me on the list for Council, but I believe WIV is where I can truly help.
Hi there, For internationalization we work with a group called Translate Wikia Net, which you can learn about here. I am sure they need help with Hebrew, so thanks for offering. Check out the link and let me know what other questions you have.
Hi. S apparently something happened there and now an admin is deleting everything. Im not asking to adopt the wiki, Im just requesting that the main page is unprotected and my stuff doesn't get deleted.
