Ah, of course! I did know about those tags but had forgotten about them! I'm still confused why the right hand template looked completely different the way I'd done it though?! It's back to normal now! Any ideas? I'm just curious!
On a completely different subject, when creating signatures, how do you override the wiki's desire to put links in blue (or whatever colour links are set at!)? When I tried adding some coloured text it only worked until I added the square brackets! You're a fan of orange, I see, like me! :) EmmerdaleWiki Talk 13:49, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Simple: you used those mainpage-column tags repeatedly, causing the page to look 'awkward'. :P
- To change it to any colour you want in a link, simply do as such:
[[User:USERNAME|<span style="color:COLORHERE;">USERNAME</span>]]
- For a list of colors, see Wikipedia's list of colors.
- I suggest switching off Rich Text Editor/Visual Editor and start using Source Mode. You'll learn a lot and start to fall in love with wiki-editing once you ditch the RTE. :) — subtank (7alk) 14:08, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- I caused the page to look 'awkward' - thats a great explanation lol :D Thanks for the signature tip. I think before I had put the code outside the brackets and thats why it didn't work! Actually, I do use source mode the majority of the time. What made you think I didn't? If I'm not sure how to do something I usually try and copy elements from another wiki. I ended up with all those column tags after copying parts of the Coronation Street wiki model. Of course the difference there being that once the first column split in two it didn't go back to one again! :) EmmerdaleWiki Talk 18:02, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
