Hi! I'm The 888th Avatar (also known as wjxhuang), and I've been around on Wikia since November 2008. An administrator on Avatar Wiki (my home wiki) and Community Central, I'm also one of the members of the Admin Support Team (AST).

Hotlinking

Kugumi

So I've been told that some of my artwork on the Avatar Fanon board is using backgrounds from the show and can't be permitted on the wiki. LadyLostris asked me to hotlink the images instead. I'm perfectly okay with that, but I can't seem to get the hotlink to work in the sliderboxes. Is there any chance you can help me out with that? Maybe I missed something (I'm kind of a coding idiot, lol XD)

Question about article comments

Bunai82

Hello.
I wanted to know if there was a way to "hide" or "disallow" comments to certain article pages without moving them to a namespace. There are two on the Vocaloid wiki that I want this for due to high traffic and some arguments.

  If I may bother you again. I created the mediawiki for the coding, but I am not sure what I am suppose to see once it is installed. Does the page give the option to hide the comment section or must I place certain articles within the coding?

  All you have to do is create categories called "Hide comments" and "Disable comments". Adding those categories to a page will remove the comments.

Something's wrong

The Fan of Wiki

I redesigned all the profiles in my wiki. After changing some codes from this page and refreshed the page twice...nothing happened. I imported it to Main Wikia.css page and refreshed my user page, but still, nothing happened. Is there something wrong on those codes or some kind of bug?

  Looks like plain old caching to me. :) You usually have to clear browser cache or just wait for a bit to resolve that kind of of issue. Your user page shows up customised for me at the moment.

Minnichi

I tried to email you about this but there's a glitch that tells me my action was throttled. ARG suggested addressing this issue to you somewhat separately though. The FRS is trying new ideas for a usergroup image and we came up with this one for now. I took the screenshot myself but added some text and cropping. Someone told me it was against policy (as well as the BSST/WLS headers...?)
Nothing's decided on and it isn't anything urgent, but I was just wondering what your take on this is. It'll help me with future images too. Thanks!

  We do allow limited numbers of headers for official/prominent projects. We just don't allow anyone to make one and use it. If the use is quite limited, we're less likely to be hit by legal claims. So yeah – that image is completely fine to use. :)
