Hello, I am an Admin for the wiki called The Avengers Movie and Other Facts wiki. I wanted to make the Wiki easier to look up, so I changed the title (or the 'wordmark') of the wiki from 'The Avengers Movie and Other Facts wiki to Avengipedia.' The only problem is that I want to change the wiki's URL from theavengersmovieandotherfacts.wikia.com to avengipedia.wikia.com. I looked all over the wiki for any way to do this, but finding none, came here, and found that I should contact an Admin here.
Anyway, is it ok if you send a reqest to change The Avengers Movie and Other Facts wiki URL from theavengersmovieandotherfacts.wikia.com to avengipedia.wikia.com?

  Hi, and sorry for the late reply! If you haven't resolved this by now, the easiest way to change a wiki's URL is to send a request to staff at Special:Contact/general.

I've just got two quick questions.

Okay, question one:
On my wiki, I would like to customize the badges, but when I'm on my profile page and I press 'customise badges' under my earned badges, it starts loading the page, but when it finishes loading, it just opens up my profile page up again, and doesn't load any sort of page where I can customize the badges. I was wondering if you could give me a link as to where I could customize the badges to earn.

And question two:
On the side bar on the recent activity page, I would like to edit that as well, but I can't seem to find anywhere to change that. Would you mind posting me a link to that too.

  Hey Jordon. In answer to the first question, just search for Special:AchievementsCustomize on your wiki... but you do need to be an admin first. The sidebar on the recent activity page can be edited at MediaWiki:Community-corner, and that needs admin rights too. I don't think you're an admin there yet, so it's probably a good idea to get on that first. Hope that helps. :)

On your user space

Rocketmanwikia

On your user space you have global.js, /wikia.js, and global.css.
I try to look at the "global.js" I put my wikia, but I don't seem to be able to bring it up. I wanted to see if there is a different between your and the one I put in. There is no description what it add or what it is for to the wikia. I'm not up on the java stuff yet. The one I put in was to get the "hide" function.

  Hi. :) I think you mean the Show/Hide javascript for collapsible elements, right? From your wiki's Common.js, it looks to have been imported correctly. Where are you trying to use it?

  Oops, sorry... I forgot about this wall post! Anyway...
  
  I'm not totally sure what you mean by "main title". But you can change the name of your wiki by putting in a Special:Contact request.
  You can disable the redirect to Wiki Activity in your preferences. It's under the My Info tab in the Appearances section. You'll see an option to change "Landing Page". Change that to "Main Page" and save your preferences.
  You can just type in Special:Createpage in your search bar.
  Just go to MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation on your wiki.
  You can create a page that has its title prefixed by Template: e.g. Template:Blah Then you can just put {{blah}} on your main page.

I am trying to make a bot, but it seems a bit harder since I am using a mac, so I cannot use the Autowikipedia thing. It seems I have to use Python, but I tried it and it confused the heck out of me @.@. Is there any other way to make/control a bot?

  Absolutely. In the middle column at the bottom of the window, the last tab reads "Start". If you click on that tab, the top shows "Summary:" and lets you enter one (clean up is the default).

  On the "Edit summary" tab, it automatically says "clean up", but I don't have the option to change it. I highlight it and try to delete that part to make my own summary, but it won't remove the default edit summary. Any idea?

  Unfortunately, that's not something that's ever happened to me. I've always been able to type in my own edit summaries. What operating system are you using?

  Mm, that would be the same as me. It looks like you're going to have to just check that you're using the same version as me (5.3.1.0) and ask the AWB devs on Wikipedia. Sorry I can't help beyond this.

  Hi Tech, That signature is allowed here on Community. But you may want to chat with Rappy and Godisme about overall signatures. They might be able to explain what a good sig is and isn't. Why some users prefer 'less is more' and why a simpler sig is easier in the background. :)

Technical Issue: Image

Hey, just wondering around. I am still trying to figure out how the codes work. I want to put some images on my own profile page but it seems like you need to upload the file to the wikia or something. I do not want to do that since the image is personal use. Experimenting this and that, yet I am still as clueless as baby. Do you have any idea?

  Hello. :) Is the image that you want to use on your computer, or on an online file repository like Photobucket or Flickr? If it's online, you can simply paste the URL into your page and the image will appear. If it's on your computer, you'll have to upload to Community Central. Overall though, even if it's online, I'd still recommend uploading it here on Central – we don't have any issues with personal use images being on the wiki. Hope this helps!

GTA Wiki Spammer Using Proxy

Hi! I'm an admin at gta.wikia.com, and we're experiencing a lot of trouble with a vandal who's been using proxy servers, making him virtually unstoppable. I've been thinking about preventing new users from creating accounts on our Wiki, with a corresponding note on our main page about it. I wish you could look at the situation and hopefully give us tips on how to stop the spammer.

  Hello. :) The best I can do at the moment is recommend that you report the issue to w:c:vstf:Report:Vandalism. The VSTF will be in a better position than I am to see what kind of measures are needed to get the wiki under control.
