Hello. I am YRPOtaku169, one of the admins for the Yu-Gi-Oh Custom Wikia. Would you please explain what an alliance is, and why the wikia should join one? One of our admins decided to sign us up without consulting anyone, and I am investigating as to what he did. I would prefer that our wikia discuss the pros and cons of an alliance before we act on it.
The Alliances are similar to the concept of Fantasy Fellowship and Time To Play. It is a Wikia wide program where wikis can decide if they belong to Heroes, Sci-fi, or Fantasy wikis. When you choose an alliance (and you can choose more than one) you'll get that Alliance's badge on your mainpage. The badge will be updated with information from all about your Alliance. You'll see information about other wikis who have joined the same alliance as you. For example if there is a beta code giveaway happening on one of the Hero wikis, and you're in that alliance, you'll be notified via the Alliance badge on your mainpage that there is a beta code giveaway going on.
Wikis who join an Alliance will also be promoted in a couple of different ways. Your wiki will be added to the Alliance landing page, you'll be promoted on your topic's hub page, and you'll also be talked about on Wikia's Twitter and Facebook pages.
If you decide to join, and you're having trouble choosing what Alliance you should join, remember that you can be in as many as you want, and the definitions are very broad. The Heroes United Alliance is for wikis who feel their topic is about a Hero or Heroes (think Marvel, Harry Potter, etc.). The Fantasy Alliance is for wikis who live in a fantasy world with dragons and magic or talking animals, etc. (Think Harry Potter, Warrior Cats, etc. Sci-Fi folks are interested in space and science (Tardis, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc).
Hello :) I've seen ur profile page at Kotoura-san wikia, and would like to request help from u on Love Live! Wikia, as well as Sakurasou Wikia.
On Love Live! Wikia , we need a capable hand on designing background, icon and wordmark, since so far I don't see anyone who able to do that, including myself. For the homepage, we already have one, but if u also willing to help make it better, we will be very grateful.
On Sakurasou Wikia, we'd like to request help for the background. We already have one for the background, but somehow the current background doesn't give any impression, so I'd like to ask for help on custom background from u as well.

Sorry to bother you with this, but, there's any kind of way to unsubscribe our wiki ( Galaxy Life Wiki ) from wikia alliances? I just subscribed to it a couple of days ago to see what it was all about, but then I realize that there's not Facebook games listed in the alliances, so I really don't see the point to be advertising it on our wiki. Thanks in advance for any kind of help you can provide me with this. :)
No problem at at all. :) There could be Facebook games if they're about magic or science fiction or have a hero in them... the alliances are for everyone, so of course we would love for Facebook games, mobile games, and every other kind of game to join us. However, if you don't want to be involved, you can remove the badge from your main page - it's as simple as that.
Ok, great! Thanks for the quick response, I will think about it, maybe we could stay on the alliance a little longer after all. I also hope that social games will be added later on. ;)
He has followed me all over wikia, tried to make me go to his wikia and goes bananas when I said no. Can you please get him ouut of wikia or something? I tried being polite. I tried being nice but no, he keeps pestering me!

My name is DarkWind and I'd like your help regarding backrounds for the IMO: The World of Magic Wiki. So, we need a background that fills the whole page, and I'm having trouble finding one and creating one that fits the format, size, theme, etc. I wanted to make one with a Christmas theme, but I don't know how. I've seen the background that you uploaded for the NeoN_(TWOM_Guild) Wiki and I was wondering if you could help us too...?
I'm having issues with the POTC Wiki background, which I changed for a sneak peek of what the Wiki will look like for a special 10th anniversary occassion. However, several problems arise from this change; problems I probably should've double-checked first.
The following issues are:
The Main Page - The parts where all the contents of our polls, "featured..." and all that are still grey when I was hoping they'd be black as per our background.
Our infoboxes and templates (look here) - Words from the infobox and the templates are white and make it really hard to read unless if it was a link. So I'm not sure if it's because of the background change or something in the Wiki's coding(or worse if it's in every template made for the Wiki).
I was hoping for a black Wiki background to fit into the them of the first movie, but because of these issues, I'm not sure if that's even possible. So if you're able to help with this in any way, I'd be most grateful. :)
That might be a tad problematic. There wouldn't be much issue in changing the Main Page-related stuff, but refixing all the templates might be a bit much. Is that truly the only way?
I was wrong about the MainPage code, I don't know exactly how to fix it. But the templates we would have to fix them all. Either by removing the white background or changing the color of the text.
Hmm...I dunno. Having learned all that, I suppose the background be fine the way it is. Not entirely sure if it's worth all that trouble...mostly because the original look had grown on some folks anyway.

This may be an issue with the ru. Russian prefix, but I'm not sure. However, if you notice we've removed it from this site since it slows the site down considerably - so it's probably just as well.
