[edit] Blissymbolics

Blissymbolics is a language-neutral writing system, developed much in the spirit of Esperanto. Being a writing system, rather than a full blown language dramatically reduces the cognitive load to learn this "new" form of communication.

[edit] Newspapers

Major newspapers are published daily; many smaller papers are published one to six times a week. They often have sections for national and world news, local and regional news, business, sports and features (such as arts, entertainment and food).

One way that newspapers advance communication among members of a community is by printing letters to the editor.

Newspapers help publicize issues and other matters, not only through articles, but also through small notices about community groups and events.

[edit] Barn dances

Barndances or variations thereof have been a tradition in nearly all countries. Live music, food, drink, libations, games and other activities are loosly organized in a large barn. Bails of hay can be used for seeting and stacked and topped with plywood making a stage for the Band. Picnic or folding tables hold tons of home cooked food of all sorts. Bar-B-Que is popular in America.
