Elder Scrolls Fanon[]

On the behalf of The Elder Scrolls Fanon Wiki and its administration, I would like to request a Wikia Spotlight. I'm an Bureaucrat for that wiki, and it needs more users. Currently, there are 5 active users on our site. Even after existing for over a year now, few users come to our wiki. A Wikia Spotlight would definately draw attention to us. Thanks for hearing my request. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 16:35, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi Michael. Congrats on reaching 100 articles! Also the new skin and logo looks really nice! I think you meet all the criteria except one -- you have no picture on your main page. Could you add one? -- Wendy (talk) 18:25, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Do you mean this Main Page. What type of image should I place there? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:38, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Well yes -- that main page has pictures so it's fine. Thanks for sorting that out -- the site was going by default to a different page when I looked. I'll add you to the list. -- Wendy (talk) 20:48, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:45, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Memory Gamma[]

Memory Gamma is a small wiki about Star Trek Fan Fiction, but nevertheless has good quality. The (up until now) four authors have already written 211 articles, minus 13 stubs. Captain Redding has made excellent work on the styling. The only thing this wiki needs now is more users. Which can be achieved by beeing a spotlight. --Londogne 18:38,31 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Memory Gamma looks very nice and I can see that you all have worked very hard on it. There are a couple of small things that need to be fixed before I can add you to the spotlight list. One, there are a handful of uncategorized pages (about 30) that need a home. The other is that you need to make sure that you welcome all contributors - there's an unwelcomed anonymous contributor in recent changes... Also you might want to change the colors for you WelcomeIP template: it's pretty hard to read. These are pretty minor fixes and I'm sure won't be hard for your wiki to do :). -- Wendy (talk) 03:39, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I'm Captain Redding Founder/Administrator of Memory Gamma. We have sorted the problems that you have explained to us: weve changed the WelcomeIP template so now you can read it easily, greeted all the Users so far and we have also categorised all the articles, so now there is no article that is homeless. Is there anything else we need to do to Memory Gamma. Captain Redding 16:49, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Good job. I'll add you to the list. -- Wendy (talk) 17:49, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

DC Animated Universe[]

The DC Animated Universe Wiki currently has 1,203 articles and meets all the Wikia Spotlights criteria. ― Thailog 13:18, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi. DC Animated is a nice wiki with a lot of content and a great skin! There's just a couple of little things before I can put you on the spotlight list; 1) you have a small handful of uncategorized pages (about 15) -- could you find them a home? and 2) you have a fair number of unwelcomed anonymous contributors in your recent changes. It looks like you are doing a great job welcoming logged-in visitors, but we need you to welcome everyone. I think you can take care of both of these issues fairly easily :). -- Wendy (talk) 17:03, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
All done. The only remaining uncategorized pages are subpages. I don't suppose those need categorizing, right? ― Thailog 17:40, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Great! I've added you to the list. -- Wendy (talk) 23:40, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Disney Channel Wiki[]

Hello. I'm Pirakafreak24 and I am the Founder/Administraitor to Disney Channel wiki. I would like to Post Disney Channel wiki for wikia Spotlight. If there is anything I need to do, Please let me know. Pirakafreak24: Admin at Disney Channel wiki, Michael Crichton wiki, and ADJL. (Talk) 01:06, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi Pirakafreak24. I know you've worked hard on the Disney Channel Wiki lately - congrats on reaching 100 articles! You have a nice skin and logo, and your main page is ok. However you don't have a good category structure, and most of your articles are uncategorized. This is the final criteria listed for the spotlight -- you need to categorize all of your articles. -- Wendy (talk) 02:02, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Birds Wiki[]

Hello. I'm an admin at Birds Wiki and would like to apply for Birds Wiki to be spotlighted. Recently, Kingpin13 and I have been working extremely hard to get this wiki up to par. We currently have 100 articles, some of which are "definition articles." This means that they are shorter pages, and are currently only for the definition of a word relating to birds. I hope this is okay, and you won't count them as stubs. Anyway, I believe that we meet all the guidelines. Thanks for your time. swannietalk 03:23, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi swannie. Birds wiki looks like it is in good shape, and we'll be happy to add it to the spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 01:18, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Land Before Time Wiki[]

I am an admin on the LBT Wiki, and myself and the other admins have been working to fix up the wiki to meet Spotlight requirements. I think we've met them all. Can we get a Spotlight? Aabicus 17:01, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. The Land Before Time is a fun wiki and a good idea for a spotlight. You do meet almost all the criteria. I see only two issues right now: 1) you have 100+ uncategorized pages. Could you find them a home?? and 2) While you've welcomed all the logged in users, there are a lot of unwelcomed anons in your recent changes. It's important to welcome them too; you can either edit your welcome template to encourage people to log in if they haven't already, or you can create a separate welcome for IP addresses. Once those two things are taken care of we'd be happy to add you to the list. -- Wendy (talk) 02:05, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Alright, the number of uncategorized pages has been reduced considerably below 100, and a template has been made to allow IPs to be welcomed. I think we're ready for a spotlight. Aabicus 00:09, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi again. Great job getting so many of those pages categorized, but in order to have a spotlight, they need to all be in categories. There's still about 30 left before I can add you to the list... and keep welcoming those visitors :). -- Wendy (talk) 01:35, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
With some help, we've managed to categorize every page on the wiki, and have put more attention into welcoming users and IP Addreses. Is that all? Aabicus 22:12, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Well Done! I've added you to the list. -- Wendy (talk) 22:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

WoWWiki Norway[]

http://no.wowwiki.com/wiki/Portal:Wrath

Hi everyone! I'd like WoWWiki Norway Wrath portal to be a Wikia Spotlight. We have a good logo, organized and catchy main page, 200+ articles that we're editing. Thanks!--Ziz@nzu 09:45, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Left 4 Dead Wiki[]

Hello, I'm the admin on the Left 4 Dead Wiki and I think that the wiki meets the requirements. Is this possible? Please leave comments on my talk page. ShadoW 23:09, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Left 4 Dead Wiki has a really sharp look and homepage -- you've done a great job with it. However if you look at the Spotlight Criteria you'll see that there are a few things your wiki needs to be eligible for a spotlight:
You need at least 100 pages, not counting stubs. Right now you have 17.
You need to categorize the pages into a good category structure.
You need a welcome template, and to make sure you welcome visitors. There were a lot of unwelcomed contributors in your Recent Changes list when I checked.
Good luck working on your wiki, and please feel free to ask for a spotlight again when you do meet the requirements! -- Wendy (talk) 02:38, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Chicago White Sox Wiki[]

Hello I'm Number 37, vice president of the Chicago White Sox Wiki. The White Sox wiki has not been getting a lot of activity lately and we would like to get it into the spotlights for all to see. Here is the link to the wiki: Chicago White Sox Wiki. Thank you, Number 37

Hi Number 37. The Chicago White Sox Wiki is very nice and has a good home page. However you don't meet a number of our spotlight criteria:
1) you need 100 content pages, not counting stubs
2) you need a logo. If you don't want to create one yourself, you might visit The Logo Creation Wiki and ask for one there
3) you need a welcome template (or you can customize the existing one.
In the meanwhile, good luck building your wiki, and feel free to ask for a spotlight again once you do meet all the criteria! -- Wendy (talk) 02:25, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Irwin Allen wiki[]

hi, I'm Mary an admin on the Irwin Allen Wiki. I think that the wiki meets all of the requirements, is it possible to get an add? If you have any questions could you leave a post on my talk page on the Irwin Allen Wiki? Thanks, --— Mary (talk) 01:50, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi Mary. You've done a nice job with this wiki, and you meet all the spotlight criteria. I'm especially impressed by your category structure -- you have everything very well organized. I'll add you to the spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 02:14, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Dark Horse Database Wiki[]

Hey there! I'm an admin at the Dark Horse Database Project Wikia. I think we meet all the requirements and would like to have our wiki added to the spotlight list.Jet'ikaCopaani gaan? 05:22, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Jet'ika

Hi Jet'ika. The Dark Horse Database Project looks really sharp -- well done! It does meet all the requirements so I'll be happy to add it to the spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 17:52, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Symbolism Wiki[]

Hi everyone! I'd like Symbolism Wiki to be a Wikia Spotlight. We have a good logo, organized and catchy main page, 200+ articles that we're editing, and many categories for organization. Thanks! Swannie - (talk) 16:47, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi Swannie. Symbolism is an interesting wiki and I love your logo! The one criteria I see that you don't meet is that while you have 200+ pages, 190 of them are stubs (they're even categorized by you as stubs). So the requirement for 100 pages not counting stubs isn't really met. Maybe you could work on bulking up some of the content a bit and ask again. -- Wendy (talk) 16:43, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Warriors Wiki[]

I'd like the Warriors Wiki to be spotlighted again, please. We were spotlighted a few months back, and I could easily notice a jump in the number of users. We currently have, at the time of writing, 523 articles, 336 of which are stubs. Thanks,
Eu(Talk!Contribs) 14:34, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

You did get a nice jump in users with the spotlight, and it looks like your numbers are still going up. Since it seems to have really helped you out, we'll be happy to put the spot back up for awhile. -- Wendy (talk) 01:43, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Right now our spotlight URL is entered incorrectly. There's a comma between warriors and wikia instead of a period so if you click things you get an error. Thank you for the second spotlight, BTW. It's appreciated.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 14:09, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Fixed :). -- Wendy (talk) 17:04, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Illogicopedia[]

You know it makes (non)sense![]

I've been editing Illogicopedia for over a year now, and I can say for a fact that Illogicopedia deserves to have your spotlight shone upon it. Despite preconceptions the name may give the wiki isn't simply a host to random streams of words/conciousness. We've got a small, but dedicated user-base and omnipresent adminatii. We've been setting up various projects, like the Welcoming committee and Peer Review to manage the site better, not mentioning the other forms of article management found conveniently on the side bar amongst other projects. We cater for both Monobook & Monaco users, providing the versatility a wiki needs.

Basicly I think you should feature Illogicopedia because it is a well-managed site that needs the boost of users your spotlight will bring to take the next step and become a big wiki. Also, it's about time we were featured anyway. --Testostereich 13:52, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

I second this nomination, but then I am slightly biased. I nommed Illogicopedia a long time ago but it was swept under the carpet... dunno if it wasn't good enough to be spotlighted at that time. However, the site has always been welcoming of newcomers, discouraging the use of generic welcome templates in favour of customised admin welcomes and is all the better for it. Let me say Illogicopedia has always been about the community and a Spotlight would be a great way to welcome new members into it. -- Hindleyite 10:14, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Illogicopedia looks like a very well-organized wiki with a lot of content and you guys have certainly worked hard on it. I'm impressed that you only have a very few uncategorized pages and I'm glad to see you taking welcomes so seriously! However you are not currently using Monaco skin as a default and that is one of our spotlight criteria. I appreciate that you actually try to make the wiki nice for both monobook and monaco users, but we need the default (seen by the anonymous users who make up the bulk of the viewership) to be monaco and not the other way around. So right now I have to say no to your request. -- Wendy (talk) 01:39, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

The Beatles Wiki, Please.[]

The Beatles Wiki should have many more pages, and a spotlight would help the wiki get song pages.Plus, me and Muppets101 are practicly the only users there. Please put us on spotlight! We need it!68.191.177.170 12:06, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. In order to request a spotlight your wiki needs at least 100 content pages (not counting stubs). There are some other criteria here also. And finally, I need to know that the admin of your site is ok with having a spotlight. Please ask again when you meet all the criteria! -- Wendy (talk) 18:55, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Can Fire Emblem wikia be a spotlight please?[]

http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

I'm not an admin, but i've talked with the admin and he says its ok and We've met all the best practices to our understanding.

--Semajdraehs-Talk page 16:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. You've done a great job with Fire Emblem, and indeed you meet all the criteria. I've added you to the list. Good luck with it! -- Wendy (talk) 01:48, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Wikination[]

Wikination should have a spotlight Pierlot McCrooke 05:12, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Pierlot. Thanks for suggesting Wikination for a spotlight. You have a good wiki, well organized, with lots of content and no unwelcomed users. It appears that most of the admins on your site prefer monobook, but we'd need to see the monaco menus customized as well so visitors could navigate easily, and there are a small handful of uncategorized pages which should find a home. But these are small issues, easily fixed. However, I can't find anywhere that you discussed having a spotlight with the admins of the site, and I would like to know that they are ok with the idea and willing to welcome any increase in visitors/editors before I add you to the spotlight list. Please talk it over with them and let me know what they say! -- Wendy (talk) 19:18, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Star Wars Fanon[]

Hello all! I am Arav the Undersith from [1] Star Wars Fanon. It has been around since 2005. We have been in the Wiki Spotlight before, but we were a dump! Now we are spick and span! We have great Cabal and users! I feel like I am asking for our Wiki to host the Olympic Games! Lol. :)! We have many articles and we have all of your requirements! So how about it?--Arav the Undersith (talk) 06:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Arav. Star Wars Fanon looks like a good suggestion for the spotlight list. It appears to be very well organized and have lots of interesting content. I do see some unwelcomed contributors in "Recent Changes", and for a spotlight we would need everyone to get welcomed. That aside, I'd also like to know that the admins are on-board with your request as they will handle the bulk of the new traffic. Could you please discuss the matter with them and have one of them get back to us if they agree with your request? -- Wendy (talk) 19:02, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
  • I am currently asking about the Wikia Spotlight in the Forum. I think we are over qualified for the position. Bo-yah!-- Arav (talk) 12:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Ok Wendy, I left the discussion for a while and there were no opposing with any admins so I am saying it is all go for the wikia spotlight! If you would like to see the forum, see [2]! -- Arav (talk) 04:23, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok. I've added you to the list. -- Wendy (talk) 04:50, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
