Hi there.
I am an Admin on the AVP Wiki and a major subject there is the various comic books associated with the franchise. Several of these comics have titles that include a slash (/) character in them, and creating pages for these is a pain because in most cases use of a slash in a page title automatically generates a sub-page. I did a little reading around and as I understand it is possible to disable this feature (allowing the use of the slash character in page titles without it having any special effect), but the procedure I came across to enact this was way over my head.
Currently we are using a work-around that involves using a dash (-) in place of a slash in the title, then using DISPALYTITLE to have it display properly on the page, but it's clunky and ideally I'd like to be able to forgo all that. The only place the sub-page feature is currently used on the wiki (and the only place I can ever see need for it) is on a few user talk page archives, and again as I understood the sub-page feature can be left active for talk pages but disabled for articles in the main namespace.
Is anyone able to help with this? Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone is able to give me. And apologies if I'm mistaken in any of what I have said.
