    I am redesigning the main page. Under the part with books, I wish to have the two parts split into 2 columns. Whats the proper procedure?

    • For having the two parts in individual columns, the following code should do:

      <div style="display: flex; flex-flow: row nowrap;">
      <div style="display: flex; flex-flow: column nowrap; flex: 1 1 50%;">
      <!-- first column start -->
      Here's the first column.
      <!-- first column end -->
      </div>
      <div style="display: flex; flex-flow: column nowrap; flex: 1 1 50%;">
      <!-- second column start -->
      And here's the second column.
      <!-- second column end -->
      </div>
      </div>

      FYI, these tags are only supported on the main page correctly as far as I know. If you put them on another page, they won't preview or render the same.

      Speedit's solution is the more general one, but will make two equal width columns (unless you change the 50% to something else).

      I think you're correct, esp. as the tag name is mainpage.

    • There's actually a whole help page, complete with video about this subject. You can find it at: Help:Main page column tags.

      Thank you for this article. This was really useful.

    • Actually, the issue with the main page column tags on regular articles is that the right rail occupies that space. You either need to hide the right rail (which I believe is against the customization policy) or you need to decrease the width (using CSS) of the left column for all pages except the actual main page.

      Since the OP is requesting help for the Main Page of their wiki (not an article page), this should not be a problem.

    • That is what I thought but I wanted to respond to Fandyllic's comment.
