  • Here are the release notes for FANDOM's code release scheduled for February 5, 2018. Many of these were scheduled for the February 1st release, which was cancelled:

    • NOTABLE: We will update the Maps extension to version 5.2.0 (from 3.5.0). Key changes include:
      • Wikis with Semantic Maps extension enabled will now have those semantic-specific features supported natively in Maps (Semantic Maps will be removed in coming weeks).
      • Cluster property support added for Google Maps.
      • Rotate control support added for Google Maps.
      • Layer namespace will no longer be in use.
      • Leaflet will now have layer support.
      • Image overlays used in #display_map now support geocoding for their locations
      • Full release notes can be read here
    • NOTABLE: Featured Videos on mobile web will now follow you as you scroll throughout the page. You can click 'X' in the top right corner of the video to dismiss it for the duration of your time on the page.
    • KNOWN ISSUES: We are continuing to look into a variety of issues with the recently updated classic rich text editor. Please do continue to let us know if you spot problems!
      • The updated editor is more sensitive to incorrect wikitext, such as unclosed tags within templates - do give that a check if you see it removing wikitext straight after a template. (We are aware there are valid use cases for that though, and are working on a solution.)

    • There's a glitch with the gallery option in the source editor, when I try to add a gallery I can't save the gallery, instead of pasting the new gallery into the source of the page, the gallery image selection window still shows. Can you fix this? It has started to mess up my ability to edit pages.

    • Just to make sure I read that correctly.  It is based on 0.0, and if I don't specify N, E, S, W, it default goes north and east? Awesome.

    • ^ Report this to S:C/B.

    • I believe I have reproduced and filed a ticket for the gallery issue - it appears to affect the classic editor with visual editing disabled. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Ugh. Yuck. I hate the annoying featured videos with a passion, and actually liked the fact that if I scrolled fast enough down the page they stopped playing. Honestly, I don't need to hear the same stupid video 5-6 times as I click off the page to follow a link and then bounce back to the main article that I'm reading (on a mobile device, it's usually faster and easier to bounce back and forth in the same page than it is to open links in new tabs/windows, like you would on a desktop browser). I wish that those stupid things were set to NOT autoplay.
