And the text is a bit too big and the font is completely different. Have I done something wrong here?
What you're trying to do is the moral equivalent of writing a note in Russian trying to use Google Translate — or, maybe, Dr. Frankenstein trying to make a human out of dead body parts. You may get it sorta right, but because you don't understand the underlying fundamentals, it's not quite working.
You're taking something out of its natural context without accounting for any of the other styling that's present at w:c:harrypotter.
Their infobox CSS doesn't account for font-size, font-family, or color because it doesn't need to. They've addressed those styling elements elsewhere, with other CSS. Because you don't have those other statements, you're going to need to either define them for all text on your wiki, or just define them for the elements of the infobox.
We kinda can't help you, yet, because we have no idea what you want. Do you want the infobox to have a different font-size, -family, and color? Do you want your entire wiki to use the same fonts that harrypotter uses everywhere? What kind of style do you want your wiki to have?
These are questions you need to answer for yourself before we can help you.
I suggest you don't just stop at harrypotter. Spend the Christmas holidays travelling around Wikia. Look at different designs and note what you like and what you don't like. Figure out what specifically you like about different designs, then come back with a laundry list of changes you'd like to make.
It's not just about the infobox. In order to make your infobox look good, your entire site much have a design ethic. You honestly can't just grab code from a site and expect it to be perfect.
