Is it just me or are a lot of Wikia pages not loading at random? I seem to be getting alot of blank pages (completely blank). Force reload sometimes works and sometimes not.
Well, this is occurring at the Yugioh.Wikia as well. I was able to edit later again, but only briefly before I was cut off again. Now I can't view certain images on my Wikia, and anytime I try to edit anything while on Google Chrome, "Loading Editor" stays on the page forever. However, switching to Safari showed the missing images for me and allowed me to edit again. Hope this helps anyone who sees this!
Image loading has long been an issue for me, regardless of a recent (1-2 days) update, although the editor will frequently break after an update in my experience. As will Wall forums. And the edit button dropdown.
I suspect various parts of Wikia backend have been failing or they are experimenting with live servers (bad!), because for parts of today I was getting numerous couldn't contact DB errors.
This is Timeshifter. I still can not edit on the Cannabis Wiki whether logged in or not. "Loading editor" stays up continuously when I click the edit button. Navigation menus are not working. I can not move around in the menus.
I can't post a message here when logged in. I don't even see the "reply" button when logged in here and trying to post.
I can post a message here only when I am not logged in.
I'd recommend temporarily switching to the monobook skin, it's what I do when the editor breaks or Wikia has messed up script imports again (or indeed broken their own). It's changed far less and only really breaks on things like Wall forums, or anything Wikia made themselves specifically for Oasis. I have never come across a situation where monobook's editor does not work.
As of this morning, I cannot find out who's on Chat. Earlier, I could not reply to any forums and create new topics. Whenever I click on Chat, I get a blank screen. What's up with that?
DPL pages that are "acting up" simply haven't been purged since the fix. Just ?action=purge and you're good to go. I've manually purged the Admin Central Forum. It's good now.
There probably should be some Wikia wide announcement about the DPL/DPLforum problem. Many users will not know or even think of the action=purge thing to fix it.
?action=purge isn't a 100% fix either. It didn't work at all when I tried it and used ?mcache=writeonly instead. I assume it's something to do with DPL cache being different to normal caching, but I've never really some across any explanation as to how their different or why.
