In addition to your general feedback about Project Darwin, we're also interested in hearing about any bugs that you find as you familiarize yourself with fluid layout and Special:CSS. Below is a list of some known issues, and you can use this thread to report any other bugs you might encounter. Feel free to start new threads as well, especially if you have suggestions and requests related to these new features!
Known Issues
- Modals
- Modals are the inset pop-up windows that are used throughout Wikia. Currently the size of a modal is determined by size of the browser window at the time the modal appears. So the modals do not resize with the window. In a few cases, a modal may be too large to display at the minimum layout size, and horizontal scrolling is required to access parts of it. We'll be working to make the size of modals more dynamic.
When editing in Source mode with the sidebar collapsed, the Preview modal is unusually narrow.
The one-point font size increase has not been applied to Message Wall and Forum content.- We've documented some minor issues on iPads/tablets, such as certain modals being too large to display fully (as noted above),
and difficulty with vertical scrolling in the Special:CSS editor pane. The wide table pop-up tool (), similar to modals, does not adjust position when the browser window changes size. The Theme Designer transparency setting is not being applied to the article container.Theme Designer's preview shows fluid layout for all Wikia sites, even those without fluid layout enabled. The right rail Chat module cannot scroll past the 6th avatar.Search Suggest is not working when the search field is aligned with the right rail (but it still works on small screens when search has moved into the header area)In Fluid Editor Preview, the main page right column does not display properly for the minimum and maximum size options. In Fluid Editor Preview, the edit summary is not displayed.
We'll add to this list when other bugs are identified, and note here and in the Technical Updates as issues are resolved. Thanks in advance for your help!
