Hi, my name is Ceratraya and I'm a big Fairy Tail fan. I love it so much I created a character for it. I used to look online for some inspiration, but a lot of the characters other Fairy Tail fans have made aren't so good or creative so that's why I'm here. I've been doing this for a while and over time my skills have improved and I believe I know enough to give advice so here it goes.
When it comes to creating a Fairy Tail character, people often make mistakes with the magic or past they write for the characters. I'm here to tell you what not to do and what to do. However, everything is up to you. You are the creater of the character. I will also be providing information when it comes to putting your character into a Fairy Tail story which is what I am working on. If anyone needs to ask any questions, comment them down below and I will try to answer them either in the comments or in the advice. If your guys have characters I would love to hear about them and if you need my advice on them I would be glad to give it to you. I also have made a character for Naruto and if you want me to give advice on that then just let me know down in the comments. Please don't comment hate on my blog. If you don't like it then stop reading. This is only to give advice to people who are struggling.
For the first thing I want to start on is your characters magic. I look online and I see people who have given their character a lot of over powering magics such as Satan Soul, Requip, and Dragon Slayer Magic. I also see people who have given their characters Bone Dragon Slayer Magic which is not a good magic. But if you are making your character a Dragon Slayer stick with giving them an element, but not one a Dragon Slayer in Fairy Tail already has. You can give them Crystal, Ice, Water, or Earth. In my opinion, I would try to stick with a magic that hasn't been used in Fairy Tail, but I also support using a magic someone in Fairy Tail already has, but I would tweek it up a little by explaining how your character uses it in a different way. Try not to make your character over powering even though in Fairy Tail there are some very over powered characters, but that's what will make your character better and badass when facing an opponent. Your character will have less power, but at the end they will gather up all the strength they have left and they will achieve victory. If you need suggestions for magics I have some. You can give your character Water Dragon Slayer Magic, Requip: The Archer Magic which involves your character being able to summon bows and arrows that hold different abilities. If you are looking for one, try downloading an app called Fandom: Power Listing. It may give some ideas. It may be hard because a lot of characters in Fairy Tail have good magics and you just want to find one that will beat theirs.
Naming Your Character:
Now this these is going to be short because I don't have much to say about it, but I have seen some names that aren't so good. The creator of Fairy Tail, Hiro Mashima, has shown us that he likes to use American names such as Lucy, Wendy, Carla, and Jenny. This means you can also use an American name. However, a Japanese name would be wonderful and there are a lot of beautiful ones. Please don't go around naming your character Foxie Reggie or Strawberry. If you need any suggestions here are some. Kimora Blade, Rin Lockhart, Kai Prentiss, Oliver King.
When you are creating your characters appearance, it basically can be anything. Fairy Tail doesn't have a specific type of clothing type like Naruto. Fairy Tail's clothing is very casual and sometimes very scandless. If you are having trouble coming up with an appearance for your character hear are some pairings of hair color and eyes color. Black hair and red eyes. Pink hair and green eyes (I love Sakura Haruno). Violet hair and green eyes. Your character can look like anything you want, but don't go overboard like giving them rainbow hair and glowing gold eyes. If you want to hear more about my character just ask and I will hopefully respond.
A lot of times I see people who have made their characters related to another Fairy Tail character that already exist. This is something I don't really support or recommend because the character in Fairy Tail already has a story. I suggest that you give them their own siblings that you made up. However, I would stick to giving them at least two siblings. I've read some history's that people have given their characters and sometimes they can be a little to realistic or bloody. Now, Fairy Tail isn't a bloody anime and saying that your characters parent's died in a plane crash is a little to realistic. Try to read other Fairy tail characters past and get the idea on how they are written, but do not copy unless your character is a Dragon Slayer. Another thing I recommend is not putting your character in the Tower of Heaver if they are in the Fairy Tail guild. This may be random, but I see a lot of them and if read all the past of Fairy Tail characters that are in the Fairy Tail guild, they have nothing incommon besides the dragon slayers. Try to stick with an original past. My girl has two siblings named Raki and Kai. To shorten it up Raki left Camilla (my character) and Kai was assumed dead. However, Raki became a demon gate which I changed to the 10 Demon Gates and Kai became part of Zeref's team and I changed the 12 Spriggan to 13 Spriggan. Putting your character into Fairy Tail
Right now I'm beginning typing my character into Fairy Tail episodes. I know a lot of people like to create their own stories, but I would only do that if your character came in like Lucy did. I would stick to the Fairy Tail episodes. I recommend using subtitles when you write because it's easier to incorporate your character into your stories. Writing your characters lines should be pretty easier and I think the greatest part about your characters lines is that you can make them say very powerful and emotion and heartfelt speeches like Natsu's friendship speech when he and Gajeel and Sting were on the chariots during the Grand Magic Games.
