Here are the latest technical updates on FANDOM. Keep in mind that our system updates happen every Tuesday and Thursday - today's notes are for tomorrow's site update. Also note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.
Release Schedule Changing
As we announced on our Monday Technical Update post, FANDOM is shifting to a four-times-a-week release strategy. This change will begin next Monday, October 23rd. Releases will now occur on: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. FANDOM does not schedule code releases on Friday to prevent any bugged releases that might affect the site over the weekend.
As a result, this blog will be discontinued. This is the final Technical Updates blog. Technical Updates will now be posted on this specific forum board. The first notes will be posted there Friday, October 20th. Feel free to go ahead and subscribe to that board to get all the information!
Major Bug Fixes
- We will fix an issue were users were not able to use the email confirmation links to confirm their FANDOM account.
- Tabber will work properly in Internet Explorer 11.
- While all of these changes are backend related and not visible to users on our interface, our Sustaining engineering team has recently done some significant work on our MySQL tables to improve site performance.
