Here are the latest technical updates at Wikia. Keep in mind that our system updates happen every Wednesday, so we’re posting this on a Tuesday to give you advance notice. Also note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.

Major Bugs Fixed

  • RecentChanges will no longer time out when a large number of blog comments would be listed. If you notice issues with RecentChanges taking a long time to load after Wednesday, please send a report to Special:Contact.
  • Importing profile information from Facebook will now gather all of the requested data.

Other Notable Changes

  • On wikis with the Related Videos module, the last item listed in that module will now be a "See all videos" option linking to the Videos category page.
  • Previously, we added a change to not load JavaScript on edit pages when editing Wikia.js/Monobook.js/Common.js, so that users can fix errors in their code that would otherwise stop the editor from loading. This has now been extended to a user's global.js/wikia.js/monobook.js/common.js.

Select Known Issues

  • Some lightboxes are showing up incorrectly positioned.
  • Some users are experiencing a longer than usual pause, or freezing, when right-clicking anywhere on a page. If this affects you, please turn off the "Edit sections by right clicking on section titles" under the Edit tab in your preferences.

Questions? Comments? Feel free to leave them below. And if you have additional bugs to report, please send them to us via Special:Contact.
