"One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them." —The translated inscription upon the Ring
There are many, many things that bind us on Wikia. One of them is our willingness to collaborate. To pitch in and work together as a team and become bigger and better for it. Another is our our shared passion for fan-fiction. Our fanon wikis are countless and the stories on them amazingly diverse: from epic movie plots for Star War Episode VII (George Lucas take note) to intimate My Little Pony character studies. But they all share something in common: They’re inspirational. So much so that they’ve inspired us to take fan-fiction to another level. A collaborative level. Welc…

Welcome to Middle-earth! Or at least Wikia’s online equivalent to it. Audiences the world over are gearing up for a big screen return to that lush and dangerous fantasy land envisioned so brilliantly by Peter Jackson with December’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
And while the first film in the planned trilogy may seem quite a ways off, we all know that fandom never sleeps. So to kick-off our “Countdown to The Hobbit,” we’d like to honor the brilliance that is J.R.R. Tolkien (he is, after all, the architect of Middle-earth) by celebrating Hobbit Day.

And while I received some “yes” replies, the majority of you answered “no” (and were pretty bummed about it). Well, turn that frown upside down because Wikia has found a way to bring you all the fun and excitement we have planned for the show, and you won’t have to leave the comfort of your own home.
What follows is info for both remote and onsite participation...

Known in some circles as the geek Mecca, Comic-Con International: San Diego has become the place for entertainment enthusiasts looking to get their yearly fix of all things film, TV, comics, anime, toys and more. With the 2012 show fast approaching, what better place to celebrate the living, breathing embodiment of Wikia than at the ultimate pop culture event. So I am excited to announce, Wikia is going!
That’s right. We’re pulling up our Internet stakes and traveling circus-style to Southern California where we have a number of fun events planned (meet-ups, parties, interview opportunities, etc.) for the duration of the convention. But what is Wikia without you, the community? After all, is not the whole greater than the sum of its parts? …Read more >
Hello, fellow movie lovers! I'm Eric Moro, the Entertainment Category Manager here at Wikia. This is one of my favorite times of year - the Oscars! From the performances to the camerawork to the visual effects (and everything in-between), the yearly Oscars telecast is a time for Tinseltown to honor its own.
And considering that Wikia has one of the most ravenous communities online when it comes to all things entertainment, we thought we’d do something special. So join us, will you, as we walk the "Road to the Red Carpet" – an exclusive tour through Wikia’s various film communities as they relate to the 84th Academy Awards . Over the course of the next 11 days, our movie experts will share their vast knowledge in such fun and quirky areas as…Read more >
