Here are the latest technical updates at Wikia! As usual, please note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.
As previously mentioned, we are in a trial period of releasing twice per week, on Tuesday and Thursday. The benefits of making this change are that updates get released faster, and individual releases are smaller and more manageable.
This week, we will be trialling posting two technical update posts - one today, and one on Wednesday.
As readers of the technical update blogs, we welcome your feedback as we move through this trial period.
New Features[]
We've been hard at work in the Wikia kitchen, brewing up some better-looking emails. Over time we to plan to transition all of our emails to the new system, but we are starting this Tuesday with the simple followed page (watchlist) emails - specifically, those covering article edits. All of the normal links you'd expect are included - plus we're adding some more useful ones, including the ability to unfollow a page straight from the email and a direct link to the page history. We hope you like it!
