Technical Update: August 12, 2014

Here are the latest technical updates at Wikia. Keep in mind that our system updates happen every Wednesday, so we're posting this on a Tuesday to give you advance notice. Also note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.

Notable Changes

Detailed CSS updates can be found at http://report.wikia.net - the diffs show changes to .css, .scss, .tmpl.php, .html, .sass and .mustache files in Wikia's codebase.

• When a map pin is open, you will now be able move it off-screen when you pan away from it.
• Newly created maps will have a background color set to try and match that of the map image's background.

Select Known Issues

• We are currently looking into some issues with image caches not updating in a timely manner.
• We are working on an issue that is causing the 'create page' dialog to be shown in more situations than it should be. A fix for this issue is now live.
• Theme Designer's preview function is not working on iOS devices.
