My issue, for quite some time now, is that way too many wikis abuse text and images on their main pages.
If it isn't word heavy (seriously, no one is reading all the text on your main page), then it has a million tiny images for navigation, which also isn't helpful and tends to be time-consuming.
We took a step back from that style in 2015, opting for a simpler interface that focused on the main hubs and our news and features.
(This was our 09-2012 design before that, and our late 00s design)
I've always wanted to emphasize our headlines, but in a modern way. Thanks to a little help from Dev Wiki, our new main page is inspired by The Verge, Recode, and even Fandom itself in a way.
