Hi, this is your friend MakePastaNotWar back with another blog entry! This time I'll explain how to change user rights, like making people admin of the group. This is important if you need some help from your mates in day-to-day running of a wiki. The first step to making someone an admin is to go to your page and click the "admin" button. Then it takes you to a special dashboard. Click on "user rights" and type someone's wikia username in the bar then click "edit user groups". When you're on the next page, check the "admin" box, type in a bunch of random letters in the reason box if you're too lazy to give a reason and click save. See you soon!

The idea of this post is to help people stop minor vandals and trolls from returning to violate their pages again and again. It's kind of difficult for a first-timer but I've figured it out. If you are an admin or founder, look at the bottom of your page where it says "Admin" then open that in another tab. Go to User Rights then click the "Advanced" tab then scroll down to "Users and Rights" then "block user". Copy-paste the username or IP found under edit history. You can view edit history by clicking the arrow on the edit button on the wiki's page. If the vandalism is serious then ban them for 6 months to a year and make sure you check the option that allows them to stop making accounts from that IP address.Read more >
