Here are the latest technical updates at Wikia! As usual, please note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.
As previously mentioned, we are in a trial period of releasing twice per week, on Tuesday and Thursday. The benefits of making this change are that updates get released faster, and individual releases are smaller and more manageable.
This week, we'll continue with posting two technical update posts - one today, and one on Wednesday.
As readers of the technical update blogs, we welcome your feedback as we move through this trial period.
- The Special page Special:MostLinkedFilesInContent will become available, which displays the most linked-to files in content namespaces.
As previously announced, though delayed from last week, we will be updating the way Wikia adapts to various screen sizes. As noted on the linked staff blog post, this update is delayed until further notice.
Major Bugs Fixed
- When a page loads directly to a section via an anchor link, the global navigation will no longer overlap the section header, as it was doing in some cases.
Other Notable Changes
Detailed CSS updates can be found at http://report.wikia.net - the diffs show changes to .css, .scss, .tmpl.php, .html, .sass and .mustache files in Wikia's codebase.
- It is no longer possible to embed videos from the provider MyVideo. Previously embedded videos will still work.
