So I hadn't seen a blog from the staff about this, so I figured I'd start one. How about some feedback about the message wall? What did some of you users think?

Note: I'm appealing to those users who's wikis recieved the early test run of the message wall a couple weeks ago and have had a chance to use it. This is not an open invatation to b*tch and moan about Wikia becoming Facebook and so-on and so-forth. If that's what you would like to do, you can conveniently do that right over here.

But getting back to the topic at hand, what did some of you early testers think? I personally think it works well for a talk page replacement, and does help with a bit of organization. Hoever, I don't recieve email notifications with Meassage Wall, and it is somewhat annoying that the wall does not use our Wikia user name, but instead uses whatever you have typed into the a.k.a. field at the top of your userpage, next to your occupation/location/birthday. Staff, is that on purpose, or will those two things change with the official launch?

On a final note, I think this is a good use for personal user communication pages, but I strongly believe that using it as an article communication page would be a bad idea. Unless there would be a way to group all individual message wall posts from a particular article together, I think article talk pages should be left alone.

My two cents, let's have yours. --Spencerz 07:02, October 21, 2011 (UTC)
