Hello fellow Wikians!

So I read that not many people give updates on life after adopting a Wiki, so I wanna share a little story. And maybe share it to remind myself of this.

When I first tried'\ to adopt a Wiki this was on May 21, 2016. It took only a day, but a bug prevented me from seeing and thus completing the adoption request, but for that entire day I DID NOT SLEEP. I thought it was all my fault and I was doing something wrong. But I did what I don't usually do: I asked for help. And we came up a solution (copy-paste existing templates) then let Merrystar know about it.

I was finally able to make the adoption request and over a week later on June 4th, the adoption process was successful! I had mentioned on the adoption request that- with a wiki that then only had 36 pages- half of them were locked. So I was also grateful that Merrystar unlocked the Wiki slightly ahead of time, and I was happy to see her talk to someone else about it asking them to do the same for other adopters because it's not fair to ask people to edit on a Wiki that's locked. Add to that they updated the adoption request page with a solution to the bug (copy-paste the template). So hopefully some people benefited from my misery afterwards. :D

So I quickly learned basic Wiki text and A LOT of copying and pasting from other Wikis to see exactly which code did what. Then two months later the Founder comes in and messages me on my wall! I was so happy. I saw some other people were kinda afraid the Founders or Sysops would come back and undo everything or feel angry, but this Founder was more than happy to come back and see a better Wiki. He only created the Wiki and edited for a day before leaving 5 years ago, but his comment still makes me smile.

Bye Cybersix, "I know we will survive".

And as a last note, I just wanna give a shout out to the Community Chat here, thanks for all the users who helped me when I asked for it, and for listening when I had any sort of problems. You're all da best!!
